Pullman, WA- Week #7

Logan found a "Jesus van"

Well Hello People of Syracuse Utah and other places near and far from that place! or just hello to the people that loved me enough to get on this group email!! ðŸ˜‚ This week was really really fun i would think it started out with our great P-day where Elder Wilson and I found a pretty cool van in the Wal-Mart parking lot (of all places) ðŸ˜‚ but you'll see a pic of that later! but we went on exchanges this week but Elder Tsang pulled the I have a chinese lesson on that day card...🙄 lucky duck so i got shipped off to the great sunnyside ward and it was honestly really fun! Those family wards get fed a whole lot more than us YSA elders!! seriously we had a dinner appointment that night then we woke up the next day to get breakfast with the bishop! it was awesome!! and just doing exchanges is cool you get to see how other missionaries work and how they do things so its a really cool experience! But with school starting and all we lose and gain a lot of people so you just never know who and what will be in our ward we went to this good burger place with our Ward Mission Leader (well Former WML because he just left to school on Thursday that is why he took us out to dinner! ðŸ˜‚) but it was delicious! but Elder Tsang and i were tracting and we headed to this apartment complex and i had the prompting to go to this other set and so we went over there and i had the feeling to go knock on this door and this lady answered and her name was diane! she was the nicest lady ever but shes gone through a lot of hardships lately and shes been having a hard time but she told us that us knocking on her door really made her day and she was just so glad that she thought no one loved her enough to just talk with her then we came and it just shows that God really does love everyone and he thinks about everyone constantly! Just if you're having a bad day or something he will find a way to make your day better and i truly believe that god directed us to dianes house just so we can talk and comfort her! but she was reading the Book of Mormon consistently but her house burned down and she lost everything in that fire! and i had the prompting to give her a Book of Mormon (and we have to be careful on who and how we give them out because we are really short on BOM's at the moment! ðŸ˜‚) but anyways I gave her a BOM and you can just see the joy and happiness light up in her! it was a great experience for me! and a real good testimony builder! I just loved this week and all that it brought to me but its crazy how fast time flies you really need to make your time count out here! love all of you and sorry for the long long email!! See/hear from all of you next week love you all!!

I've met so many new people and its been my dream!! i love talking to people and meeting new people and hearing their stories its so awesome!! the lord has been preparing me to go on a mission for a while now!! hahaha so anyways more in the beginning of our week is when we teach most of our lessons!! Tuesday we had 3 lessons lined up!! one with a girl named julia who is so close to baptism but cant give up coffee!! (Curse you coffee!!) and its been good meeting with her!! and the other was with a guy named Hayden and he is like the coolest guy ever!! he is so cool and he knows sports just like i do and its so much fun just talking with him and he gives me updates so thats good too!! hahah and another was with this all chinese family named the Zengs!! so with the Zengs i dont know chinese so i just sit and chill there so its pretty awesome and boring at the same time though too!! hahahah then on wednesday we were walking campus and i waved to this guy and he pulled over and was wondering why i waved at him! and i said because i wanted to see how he was doing and if he was having a good day and i asked him so are you having a good day? and he said i was until i saw you guys!! and continued to say why he didnt like seeing us walk around on campus and everything it kind of makes him mad i guess!! what a cranky guy! hahaha well he was driving a Subaru Outback so i was kind of expecting taht from him!! hahaah so other than that not a lot happened this week its been a pretty good week!! hahaha well youll just have to hear from me next week!! hahah Love you all and see ya all in a week!! haahahaa

Yay!!! His package had arrived!

Hey mom!! yeah that sounds like youve had a pretty busy week like always!! hahahaha but yeah i love love love your package!! i was lucky to be in the apartment when it came!!! and the day it came it was actually a really hard morning for me!! that was kind of the first day i really cried on my mission!! hahaha but its all good it was a quote from that book that youd read us all the time "ill love you forever" i think but the phrase was "ill love you forever. ill like you as always. but as long as im living my baby youll be" and it was really sad!! and i started talking to elder tsang about it and i really just started crying!! it was really hard but your package made it so much better!! im getting better everyday im out here!! i really love it out here and i know that it is going to be hard but ill get used to it!! Im working on it and im getting better!! i just miss all of you back at home and its been hard to get used to but im doing it and your ipod and speaker has been helping a lot with that!! hahah but kaiden came home?? thats so awesome!!! im glad he made it home safely!! but yeah its gonna be good im really blessed to be out here but im getting my feet down and im getting used to it!! love you so much mom!! and i miss you guys so much!!

Pullman, WA- Week #4

Welp its been a while since you've all heard from me huh? almost 2 weeks i think!! hahaha but anyways this week has been pretty awesome!! my first day out was last monday and we went out street contacting!! and we see this guy and hes yelling something being all mad for some reason! but we go up there and he is giving my temporary companion and i the bird!! and saying "F you missionaries" it was an awesome welcome to the mission moment for me!! i loved it!! but you know my guy trenton moyes! or should i say Elder Moyes is in the MTC now!! thats crazy!! to bad i missed him by just 2 days gosh dangit!! but i hope hes doing good! hahaha speaking of the MTC i actually kind of miss the MTC yeah i was kind of complaining about it a whole lot and that probably wasnt the best but i look back and i saw how much fun i was really having there!! i was having a ball!! but now im in the real world again having the time of my life!! hahaha but im actually serving on Washington States campus right now and serving in the YSA ward!! its really fun! i get to hang out with a bunch of people my age!! (well they are actually a little older) hahahah but its still so much fun!! but my companion right now his name is Elder Tsang and hes from china!! hes kind of a quiet one but im working on getting him out of his shell!! (i kind of have a tendency to do that) hahahah but i love serving on the campus!! i actually pass Martins Stadium everyday and to see that is where Utah lost their first game last year!! but i take every moment i have to flash that "U" around on that campus!! Sorry mom and dad Utah played here last year you cant make a trip out to "see the game" this year!! hahahah But other than that ill leave my apartment address on here if any of you want to get packages or letters to me send them here for the next 5 weeks (dont send anything around september 12 i might have been transferred!) hahaha

Letter to mom:

well this last week was pretty hard! hahaha yeah it has been really hard. it was my first week in the field but now im all good!! hahaha hearing from you guys weekly really does help a lot!! and i love seeing your pictures!! i really miss you guys!! even though i didnt spend a lot of time at home before it really started getting real!! i wish that i did!! i honestly didnt know how much i would miss you guys!! like how often i would talk to you guys though too!! but you know it will go by fast! by the time kennah gets home ill be out for about 7 months and that only leaves like 18 to 17 months left and thats basically kennahs mission and hers went by really fast!! so all these "ber" months like september, october, november, and december always seem to go by a lot faster!! you know you were right i really do miss the MTC actually!! its surprising but i really miss it looking back on it i made so many new friends there and i really had a ball there!! i really did take it for granted!! hahaha  so i really am loving it out here you dont even know!! im actually serving on Washington States campus!! so too bad Utah played here last year!! hahahaha so you guys cant make an accidental visit here!! hahahah but yeah i walk by Martins stadium like everyday and i just think thats where Utah lost their first game last year!! by a field goal!!!! i think i dont remember!! but im loving it here its so much fun!! yeah Elder Tsang is good!! im working on getting him out of his shell kind of! hes kind of an awkward guy a little he doesnt talk a whole lot but being with me he will learn to talk!! hahahah it took me like 2 days to get Miner (MTC companion) to come out of his shell but i have a lot of time with Tsang!! hahaha well i want to see videos of games when they start!! record the Super bowl for me!! hahahahah but hey can i ask you to send me a few things to this address when ever is possible! preferably before September 12 (because thats transfers)
1. My blue blanket and pillow! hahaha i know i know youre probably going to say you threw it away! hopefully not! but it would really make sleeping at night easier and its more of a comfort blanket than anything!! hahahah please i would love it so much if you did!! :)
2. An Ipod and my little speaker with church appropriate music on it? We forgot to do this before i left!! but there is a really nice band called the Nashville Tribute band that i heard in the MTC and they are all church appropriate!! i trust your judgement!! love you so much!!
I'll let you know if i need anything else!! but i dont think i will need anything else though!! But thank you so much for doing that for me you are seriously the best i love you so much!!! See ya next week!! :)

Letter from President and Sister Dymock

02 August 2016

Dear Brother and Sister Scott,

I was pleased to welcome your son, Elder Scott, to the Washington Spokane Mission this week. I’m happy to report that he arrived safely. I had the privilege of meeting and associating with him the day of his arrival and note that it is evident that he comes with a great desire to serve Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Elder Scott understands the role of the Holy Ghost in accomplishing the work here in the Washington Spokane Mission and has committed to live worthy of that power.

After prayerful consideration, I have called Elder Tsang to serve as Elder Scott’s companion in the Pullman, WA It is our objective to call only the best missionaries to serve as trainers and I believe that your son is in excellent training hands. We expect that your missionary will serve in this area for the next 6 to 12 weeks as he begins his mission.

I have enclosed photographs of your missionary and assure you that Sister Dymock and I will love Elder Scott. Our great desire is that his time here will further establish him on the path of righteousness, as well as bless the many people he will serve.

Attached are the new updated recommended guidelines we have for parents. These guidelines are based on many years of accumulated missionary experience, especially those guidelines concerning personal contact with your missionary. Elder Scott needs your good example. I sincerely request that you consider them for the benefit of your son and his fellow missionaries.

The mission has a website where you can see what is happening in the mission.
