Spokane, WA -West Valley Ward- Week #89

Logan's new apartment in Millwood

Hello my good friends and families and whoever else is on this thing! πŸ˜‚
What a week this has been! I honestly can't remember what went down because it went by really really fast! Like really fast! Hopefully I remember what went down! πŸ˜‚ First the crazy thing that happened I got my Trunks this week in the mail... Thats pretty crazy! You guys have probably heard me talk about my trunks before on here but in this Mission we call them our trunks and basically they are the papers that prepare you and the Mission for you to go home...πŸ˜“ Its crazy to think that I am here or I've made it far enough to get these things!! It freaks me out!! πŸ˜‚ Anyways that was something crazy that happened. Its been a really busy week! I have taught so many lessons here its been great!! πŸ˜‚ I don't think I have ever taught this many lessons that I taught this week than I have in my whole Mission!! WHAT A BLESSING!! I can't complain! πŸ˜‚  We have been literally running from lesson to lesson! Never have I done that on my Mission! I love it!! Something else that happened this week. Elder Horman had the opportunity to go to the Temple and see a family that he taught get sealed. The plan was for me to go with the companion of the guy Elder Horman was going with. As you can see already that was the plan and obviously that didn't happen... I go inside to go to the bathroom and come back out and they are gone... The thought that goes through my head at this moment is..."Well crap now I am alone!" I go back inside to go hang out with the other Missionaries that are in there. Which ended up being Elder Speckhard and his companion. I don't know how I got there but I ended up going to a lesson with this guy, which I had to leave early from cause they came and picked me up. They ended up putting him on date though so way to go! It was weird I just hopped from companionship to companionship and area to area.. It was crazy! So fun though I got to talk and hang out with some other Missionaries! πŸ˜‚ I also got bit by a dog for the first time on my Mission this week. We were at this lesson Elder Horman gets up and shakes this ladies hand and the dog is pretty chill, then I go up to shake her hang and the dog lunges and bites me in the forearm!! WHAT THE JOKE!?!? Its honestly because I am brown I'm convinced!! Loser dog!! I am not bitter at all! πŸ˜‚ That is honestly all I remember from this week... That is all thats coming to me right now... I have loved it so much! Things are happening and God is continually blessing us over and over with Miracles!! I honestly have nothing to complain about!! πŸ˜‚ I am pretty excited for General Conference on Saturday and Sunday we are going to get so many answers to prayers!! Its going to be my last one as a Missionary! CRAZY!! I am excited to hear and learn from the Prophets and see the calling of 2 new apostles!! I get really really excited for it! Its like the Super Bowl for Missionaries!! Anyways sorry for the long nonsense email! Next week will hopefully be better! πŸ˜‚
I love you all! I love being a Missionary and I know this to be true!! Talk to you all next week!! LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!!!

Spokane, WA -West Valley Ward- Week #88

Logan reunited with his favorite truck from Colville

Hey whats up hello everyone!!!
It has been one crazy week I can tell you that! Buckle up your seat belts cause its going to be one roller coaster of an email!! πŸ˜‚ Last time on this episode of Elder Scott's Email you heard that Transfers came and that they were re-doing them all last P-Day. If I failed to mention that I am sorry. They were re-doing all of the Transfer Calls on the day we were supposed to get them!! CRAZY!! They did a whole weeks worth of work in one day!! πŸ˜‚ Anyways so late Monday night I get a call from President. He was telling me that I "was so mulit-Talented" (Whatever that meansπŸ˜‚) that he moved me like 9 or 10 times with a bunch of different combinations of things. Oh so I was the problem with this whole transfer thing...  πŸ˜‚ Im joking! Anyways he told me that I will be released from being a District Leader!! WooHoo!! No more Leadership for me! I get to chill out the last 4 Months of this! 7 and a half months of being a District Leader was good enough for me! πŸ˜‚ Anyways I got my call to go to Glenrose on the "South Hill" they call it up here! I was so pumped to go!! Then... Tuesday night came... I got a call from the Assistants telling me that my Transfer call has been changed! I will not be going to Glenrose anymore. I will be sweeping into the West Valley Ward in Mount Spokane!! (If you don't remember what Mount Spokane is to me its the same zone that Shiloh Hills was in!) Heck yes!! I was so pumped to go back to Mount Spokane!! Sweeping has been an interesting process.. Luckily this is the 2nd time I have swept into an area! πŸ˜‚ Davenport really was its own monster it is way bigger than West Valley! Anyways its been a load of fun my new companion is named Elder Horman and he came out a Transfer before me. So we are a bunch of "Old Farts" in this Mission at 21 and 20 Months out! πŸ˜‚ This will probably be both of our final resting place on our Missions! I will probs send him home and then go home a few weeks after!! Its going to be so much fun!! πŸ˜‚ Thats been the craziness of this week and my Transfer Calls! It was so weird!! The Zone is so awesome!! It is so stacked though we have everyone here!! A bunch of solid Missionaries my District Leader was just barely the Assistant and Elder Horman just got released from being a Zone Leader in Pullman!! We are so solid and ready to make some Miracles happen here!! A crazy story before this email gets way too long we were trying some Potentials we get to this guys house. His name is Jeff and boy oh boy was he CRAZY!!! He sits us down and tells us all the crimes and everything he has done! This man should be in Prison I feel like!! He tells us that he also just is in the process of having an affair with his wife and doing all these other bad things and is completely ok with it!! Who in their right mind does this stuff and is ok with it!! We thought for a second there that he was going to keep us hostage or something!! It was freaking crazy!! But what more can I ask for I wanted some ghetto areas and some crazy stories and oh boy are they coming right now!πŸ˜‚ I love it here so much already!! The ward is awesome and the members are on fire!! They just need some consistency hence the reasoning why we think we will both go home here in this area and it sounds like it is more than likely that it will happen!  πŸ˜‚ We both had the opportunity to give a talk in church yesterday about Missionary work! I gave mine on doing the Small and Simple things and to not over complicate things! It came from a talk from the April 2017 Conference by L. Whitney Clayton called "Whatsoever he saith unto you do it" Its been one of my favorite talks on my Mission! Its so simple and to the point! I love it!! If you havent read it try it out! What do I know though I am just a punk 20 year old kid! πŸ˜‚ I am joking!! Well thats been my week pretty dang crazy and I don't see it stopping anytime soon! Mt Spokane has been know to be the land of ET's I can testify to that wholeheartedly!! Maybe more stories to come!! Stay tuned!! πŸ˜‚ I love you all so much!! Remember the Church is True, the Book is blue!! Don't be Dumb!! LOVE YOUUUUUUUU!!!!

Coeur D'Alene, ID- Week #87

Logan preparing for his sacrament talk he had to give on the "Gospel of Jesus Christ"

HEY HEY HEY!!!

What a week it has been!! πŸ˜‚ We are supposed to have our Transfer Calls... I say supposed because obviously I don't have it yet... πŸ˜‚They would usually give us our Transfer Calls by now but I guess they had some last second changes to make and things to fix up... They say we should have them by later this Afternoon or by tomorrow morning!! So I basically have no clue if I am leaving or staying!! πŸ˜‚ I have this feeling I am leaving but we will see! I guess you guys will see next week where I am at or where to send things or what is even going on with me! For now just send things to the Mission Office! That would be the best place TBH! πŸ˜‚ This week though has been amazing!! The weather has been soooooooo gooooooodddd!! It has started to feel like Spring now!! It makes me so freaking happy!! I LIVED THROUGH THE WINTER!!! *Knocks on wood* What a blessing I tell you!! I didn't think I would be able to do it!! I did it though and now its all down hill from here! Probs not though! πŸ˜‚ This week was really good we had some trials and some people drop us but hey that is ok! That is a wonderful blessing to have agency right?? Well only sometimes... πŸ˜‚ I am joking of course!! πŸ˜‚ I wanted to talk about Jay this one kind of frustrated me a little! Jay has been one of the most solid guys I have ever taught on my Mission! He was doing his research, reading, praying, the whole 9 yards! We show up to have a lesson with him and he says he wants to drop us!! LIKE WHAT THE HECK!?!? He also said he wants to stay with his other church! NO WAY!! πŸ˜ He says that he is fine where he is at and he loves what his other church is doing.. I honestly think that it is all social... His whole family is this certain religion. His Dad does not like the idea of him meeting with us, he met his fiance at a church sponsored event, and he also worries about what everyone thinks about him at his other church.. πŸ€” He continues to say that he wants to keep meeting but outside of his house he does not want us to talk about meeting with him, or talk about him meeting with us. Alright sounds good Jay. I won't judge you for that or even looking down. He doesn't know a whole lot about his religion or what they teach, or knowing the Bible at all, he even asked us where Genesis was... πŸ˜ Its ok he is a really good guy! Love him to death and he will get there one day. It just breaks my heart that he is so worried about what everyone thinks of him and always constantly harassing him to not meet, or even do all this stuff we are asking him to do! We know that God works in mysterious ways, but Satan works in just as mysterious ways as well!! We know that God is all powerful and he is preparing people for us to teach and I know I need to work my butt off to find these people that God has prepared for me! When people get close to coming to know or find the truth Satan works on them like no other!! It sucks but Satan does not want us to win! He knows how Powerful the Book of Mormon and how close he is. Dang Satan!! Take a hike man!! πŸ˜‚ Thats Jay though, Pray for him he needs it! Getting off that tangent I had the opportunity to give a talk on Sunday! He gave me 2 days to prepare a talk... I was wiggin out man! πŸ˜‚ For some reason I hate giving talks in front of people! I am not a public speaker that is for sure!! I can talk to people easily but talking in front of people freak me out! πŸ˜‚ It ended up being a good talk on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.. I thought it was a good talk but if everyone else thought I don't know!  πŸ˜‚ We had 2 investigators come to church and it was awesome!! They came to all 3 hours and loved it! The lessons were perfect and the spirit was there it was awesome!! Well that was my week really nothing new but some how this email is forever long!! πŸ˜‚ I love life, I love the weather, I love being a Missionary it has been the greatest thing I have ever done! I would not trade the last 20 Months (Crazy that its been this long!!!) for anything its been so great! All good things come to an end though... Its ok I am going to work my butt off for the last 4 Months! LETS GO!! #OuthereGrindin!! Well remember the church is true, the book is blue, Jesus Loves you! I love you as well!! Talk to you all next week!! LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

Coeur D'Alene, ID- Week #86

Logan's companion enjoys sleeping on this table rather than his bed

Hey what's up hello!! How was everyone's week?! I hope it was good! Mine was really good as well! Lots of walking and not a lot happened this week.. But I can't complain it's all about the experience! πŸ˜‚ This week was great! I had the great opportunity to go on Exchanges with my good friend Elder Miner! It was a ton of fun and it was good to be back with the companion I started this whole crazy journey with almost 20 Months ago! πŸ˜‚ We both have grown and matured a lot over the times but at the same time we haven't and didn't skip a beat! πŸ˜‚ This time was different these people were REAL PEOPLE! Not fake ones that just work at the MTC! πŸ˜‚ It was good though we had a lot of fun and did a lot of good work! πŸ˜‚ Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, were all pretty much the same.. We do service at the Pizza Factory and fold pizza boxes every Friday after District Meeting! That is always my most favorite thing of the week! I get a lot of paper cuts cause I am what they call "Slow" at this whole process. πŸ˜‚ My District always makes fun of me about that! πŸ˜‚ They will eat those words one day! πŸ˜‚ Saturday was a harder day we didn't have a whole lot planned or lessons so it was a lot of finding (Knocking doors, walking around, that kind of stuff. πŸ˜‚).. pretty much all day! I was not excited. But we survived so I learned all things are possible! πŸ˜‚ we did find a lot of people to talk to! The Lord really does put people in your path when you are being obedient and trying your best! That's all he asks of us is to try our best. πŸ˜Š Melanie, one of our investigators who is on date, texted us and telling us she wanted to stay at her church she is now.. we were freaking out because she is one of our most solid investigators! πŸ˜‚ we went over and she had so many hang ups, about this and that and a lot of little things! We taught her the importance of the Book of Mormon because it is so important and so crucial to our conversion! This is something that I have kept thinking about this week. It has always come back again and again. The Book of Mormon is the Keystone of our religion and it is so important! Without the Book of Mormon everything would come down! I mean EVERYTHING! It is pretty much the foundation of this church! If we come find out it's true then it proves that Joseph Smith was a Prophet called by God and that the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints is God's restored church on the Earth again! Joseph Smith's story alone is crazy to believe! Let's take a step back here for a second. You are telling me that a 14 year old boy saw and talked to God the Father and Jesus Christ FACE TO FACE at age 14? That he also was led by an angel to these "Golden Plates" that have been hidden in the Earth for hundreds if not thousands of years? That he also Translated these things by the gift and power of God from this ancient writing to English? With a 3rd grade education? I mean come on now that's sounds freaking crazy! But I can tell you w oth every fiber in my being that it is true. It is so true just like the sky is blue! (Ha that rhymed. πŸ˜‚) I know it to be true because I have put it to the test. I got on my knees and asked the only guy that would know if it's true or not. That guy is our Father in Heaven. With this whole story it's either it's true or it's not. There really is no grey area with it. It can't somewhat be true. It's either fully true or fully false! That's something that we need to decide foe ourselves! Isn't that great? No one forces it on us we get to decide? πŸ˜‚ It's either Joseph Smith saw and did everything he says or he made it all up... It's really that easy. I know that man to be a Prophet and that he really saw and did everything he says he did. I know that to be true with everything in me! But it all comes back to the Book of Mormon. That is the convincing evidence of Jospeh Smith! And that God loves all of his children EVERYWHERE! No matter where they are at, no matter if they are tall, short, black, white, green or orange! (As you can tell I love that line! πŸ˜‚)  All we have to do is read it and Pray about it. Sincerely ask God if it's true. I can promise you he will answer. Literally don't judge a book by its cover!πŸ˜‚ I see so many people out here doing that though. It makes me so sad on the blessings and things they are missing out on though.. What a blessing the Book of Mormon and the Restoration is to me and my Family. I know it to be true if I didn't I know for a fact I wouldn't be out here! πŸ˜‚ Sorry for the tangent There! πŸ˜‚ I get super vocal about that as you can tell! πŸ˜‚ It just means so much to me! I wouldnt be the man i am today without it believe it or not! πŸ˜‚ Well that's all the updates I have for this week! We continue to see miracles and Springtime is coming FINALLY!! *Knocks on Wood* well I love you all talk to you all next week! Remember the Church is True, the Book is literally blue, Cows say moo, and I love you! So does Jesus! πŸ˜‚ anyways sorry for the crazy email! πŸ˜‚ Talk to you all later! LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!
Love,
ELDER LOGAN SCOTT :)
