Spokane, WA -5-Mile Prarie Ward- Week #96

Elder Bernecker, Logan, and little Makai 3rd person in the companionship

Howdy people of the group email of Elder Scott!!!
You are all probably wondering why I said howdy!! Ok you probably aren't wondering that... i am the only one that is wondering that... there is nothing significant about the Howdy. My goodness that was stupid! 😂 anyways moving onto the week!! This week was pretty dang good!! We saw a lot of miracles happen and the Lord's hand is truly in his work! What a blessing!!!! 😂 Our P-day was shortened this week because we got to go to the Temple on Tuesday! YAY FOR TEMPLE TRIPS!! 😊 The Temple was awesome as always! I finally had the opportunity to do the family names that my Mom gave me almost a year ago... I learned a lot from doing them! I got to do initiatories for the first time for the dead, that was pretty cool! I learned that gaining the Priesthood is a saving ordinance!! I did not know that before! Then Elder Bernecker and I talked more about it and did some further study and we came to the conclusion that gaining the Priesthood isn't just some extra power and blessing we get but we need it to progress further in this life and the life to come!! This is why the Priesthood is so important and that is why when you have the Priesthood it shouldn't be taken lightly!! WHAT A BLESSING IT IS TO HAVE THE PRIESTHOOD ON THE EARTH TODAY!!! 😂 Man having the Restored Gospel on the Earth again today is honestly the best thing ever!! Then I also got to do some of the Family names for the Endowment session after and it's always more meaningful when you go through and you actually recognize the last name! I felt this overwhelming peace and I just knew my ancestor has for sure accepted the work I did! Ah it was just the best temple trip ever! We should all go to the Temple a lot more!! The Spokane Temple has for sure got a special place in my heart... I love it! I love the work, spokane... ahhh not so much! 😂 JK! On Wednesday we spent hours of cleaning up our Facebook! Which was a major pain in the butt!! I am so not ready for Facebook! The world scares me! Being on Facebook for 3 seconds I see a spoiler for the new Avengers movie!!! DARN YOU FACEBOOK!!! Ruining my life since the early 2000s!!! If anyone knows when Facebook started that would be some good information to have! 😂 We had interviews with President and Sister Dymock this week! I always enjoy talking to them! President once again has told me why I came back to Five Mile! It's always funny to hear what goes through that man's head to send me back here for a 3rd time!! 😂 There is a good chance that President Dymock will be doing our exit interviews!! Yay!! Not a whole lot happened the rest of the week.. we met and talked to a lot of people! Finding the elect that God has in store for us!! We had a lesson with a recent convert in Shawnee named Deric. For his new member lessons we taught the Plan of Salvation! Actually I should say he taught us! We gave him a marker and told him to teach us! I will honestly say that it was probably the funniest plan of Salvation I have ever been apart of!! For the rest of his new member lessons we will be giving him a marker and telling him the topic and he will teach us using the Whiteboard! Stay tuned for lessons with Deric coming in the near future!! 😂 well that's been my week! It's just another week down the shoot! I got 8 weeks left! I'm wiggin out!! It's good though! All good things have to come to an end!! Well that's all I got this week! I love you all so so much!! Tune in next week for another episode of Elder Scott's email! Remember the Church is True, and the Book is literally blue! Jesus lives you!! DBD gosh dangit!! I love you all so much talk to you next week!! LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!!
Love,

Spokane, WA -5-Mile Prarie Ward- Week #95

Some of Logan's favorites from the Spokane Zone

Hey Hey Hey Everyone!!!!
Another great week has come to pass in the great Mission of Elder Scott in the Five Mile Prairie and Shawnee YSA Wards!!! ðŸ˜‚ Lots of things to update on (I guess) and I don't want this email to be forever long so I'll get right to it!! ðŸ˜‚ With Mother's Day coming and going for what it seems like at least! I got to talk to my family on skype again!! WOOHOO!! What a blessing!! Crazy to think that this was my last skype call on my Mission.. The next time we will talk face to face will be in person!! YAY!!! ðŸ˜‚ I got to skype at the Frank's (Our WML) again. I say again because that is where I skyped on Christmas as well!! I HAVE BEEN HERE FOREVER GOSH DANGIT! ðŸ˜‚ I really can't complain I love it here! ðŸ˜‚ Before I get to the miracles I've seen this week I want to explain my subject heading real quick!! Last P-Day after we were done emailing and what not we decided we wanted to go exploring! Like come on who doesn't want to go exploring! Anyways Brother Frank was talking to me (Before I left the last time) about these "Ice Caves" in Five Mile. I have him send the directions and let me tell you these directions are not too descriptive man! Its saying things like this (Walk until you see this rock *See Picture #2* and go east, then go east until you see what looks like this old well *See Picture #3* When in reality its not a well, then go until you find the "Ice Caves") So the directions weren't the best and we decided to go! We were hiking through the forest and got some really cool pics! We show up to what is apparently the Ice Caves which turn out to be a 20 Ft or so deep hole in the ground! Let me set the scene for you real quick, so there is this giant hole surrounding this whole is an old wooden fence thing, Then inside the fence thing there is this wooden platform that is old, water logged, rotted, sagging, warped anything else you can think of that could be bad for wood thats what this platform was! ðŸ˜‚ continuing on there is this old wooden ladder that came up from the hole, You know me being me I wanted to go down into this hole and to see if these Ice Caves were worth it! So as I am going down this ladder I break like 4 rungs going down! All signs of sketch people!! That didn't stop me though I made it down alive and in one piece with another Missionary at my side! ðŸ˜‚ We explore around and look in this hole and we come to find that its just a hole, nothing too special so we start to climb out! Elder Tadler (The Missionary I was with) makes it out perfectly fine. Me on the other hand it was a different story... I get out of the hole onto the sketchy wooden platform, I start to slide back and I was a little freaked out but I thought I could handle it not too bad, I take another step and I start to slide back faster than I was before, I thought "Ok I might need to grab something before it gets real bad." I go and try to grab the old wooden fencing and you can probably guess what happens next.. Yes you guessed right it freaking BREAKS!!! So I am sliding back even faster now, I lost my footing and landed on my stomach and start to slide down toward the hole!! Some how I don't know how but somehow I get my foot to catch on the ladder and surprisingly the rung that it caught on didn't break!! Woohoo!! Then I start to lean back on the ladder and grab this piece of wood that was sticking out and then pull myself back onto the rock wall and save myself from falling into this hole!! ðŸ˜‚ What a story and I can honestly tell you guys that it was by the grace of God that I did not fall down that hole that day!! Some Angels on the other side have some really good hands and saved me from dying once again!! I am so lucky and I should honestly practice what I preach every single week!! I finish my emails with Don't be Dumb and I should probably follow that council! ðŸ˜‚ Maybe I will who knows! Its a great learning experience what do we learn the Ice Caves in Spokane are not worth it and to not be dumb!! ðŸ˜‚ Anyways with that crazy story aside we saw some crazy Miracles this week!! We are teaching this guy named Mark Smith he was one that was found while on exchanges while I was gone before! He is super solid and sincere! We taught him about how Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are all 3 separate beings making that the Godhead! He loved that! ðŸ˜‚ He said he already believed that but no one else did that he was looking at! He was so excited about that and he kept mentioning that is what we taught him and he is so grateful! He really wants to learn more on what we teach and now he is On-Date for baptism for June 30th! He accepted that with no hesitation! Miracles are truly happening in Five Mile Prairie! 😂We are also teaching this girl named Emily Huck in the YSA! Funnily enough I talked to her a few times before with Elder Lundberg! This was back when I was in Pullman at the beginning of my Mission! Anyways she is pretty much like a dry mormon! We set up a time to meet up and we meet up and this Emily is a completely different Emily that I have talked to before.. She has grown up and let the spirit work on her for these last 2 years! She has been prepared to make this next step and she sees it in herself as well that she needs to make this change and I could hear and see the sincerity in her as she is telling us this and this is something that I have never seen in her before. It was an awesome thing to see and now she is On-Date to be Baptized on July 14th!! WOOHOO!! Its probably one of the last things I will be doing as a Missionary!! Its going to be so dang cool!! I know God doesn't give up on his children, he knows each one of them individually and loves them. I saw Emily 2 years ago and this one is completely changed and is ready to make that next step! It didn't happen right away its been 2 years! Its not going to happen on our timeline its going to happen on the Lords!! I love this work so much and seeing the change in people has probably been one of my most favorite things ever!! That is something that will never get old to me I hope it doesn't stop as well! ðŸ˜‚ Well that is all I got for this week Mothers out there I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day and everyone treated you well! Especially my Mom I have thee best Mom EVER!! She deserves the best and I honestly would not be near the man I am today without her influence in my life!! I love her and I truly consider her one of my best friends! I love you so much Mom see you in 2 Months!! Everyone treat your moms and the women in your life like Gold and remember the Church is True! The book is freaking Blue!! You probably shouldn't be dumb... Ok that one was for me! 😂 But Probably Don't Be Dumb! (P.D.B.D) I love you all so much and I will talk to you all next week!! Peace see you all in 2!! LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUU!!!!
Love,
ELDER LOGAN SCOTT :)
