Colville, WA- Week #41

Pictures sent to us from a member this week. They fed them, then took them on a tour of their farm! Best kind of texts to receive.

HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOO Everyone!!!! How have you all been this week?? This week has been nothing short of Amazing for Elder Scott up here in Colville!! The Promised Land I should say!! Or that is what other people say!! ðŸ˜‚ We have seen some miracles this week just like always! We are kind of in the finding process right now because we kind of dropped a lot of our investigators yesterday actually! Because they are not progressing and they are being converted to us and they feel like they do these things for us and not because they know that they need to do it because it will bless their lives! So we decided that we would give them back to the Lord and give them sometime so that they will soon be ready one day!! Some funny things that happened this week, we were driving around Kettle Falls yesterday, and we got out to go street contacting! This little girl, she is like 10 or maybe younger I have no clue! She asks Elder Hair and I why we are dressed in those funny costumes! I respond by saying "Because they are comfy (never thought I would say that) and because we look way good huh??" The way that she responds wasn't what I was expecting! She straight said NO!! What?!? What do you mean we don't look good?!? It was just something to laugh at! Another really funny thing was we pull up to this house and this sign says "CAUTION!! This Property is guarded by Military working dogs!!" Elder Hair and I were just thinking UMMM NO THANKS!! We dipped out of there so fast!! We couldn't help but laugh!! I wished I would have taken a picture though!! Being out in the Boonies is pretty fun we just see some funny things and the people here are pretty weird but they are amazing!! We sat down with our WML because our ward is kind of struggling because the retention sucks in this ward!! But we are staying positive and keeping busy and hoping that something will click within the ward!! If not President has talked to us about pulling us out of the area, to show them what it's like to not have missionaries! So we are trying to work with them!! On the bright side we have 2 baptisms this week and I am so pumped for that!! Liz and Merina Silva so be pumped for them and hopefully it goes through!! Pray for them!! Well sorry for the weird email I honestly don't remember what we did this week! We had interviews with President and Sister Dymock which was awesome!! And yep that is all I could remember everything else was a blur!! Obviously it was a good week cause I can't remember it right?? Well that is what we are going for!! I love you all so much and I hope you enjoy my random pictures for the week!! Love ya talk to you all next week!!
Love,
Elder Logan Scott :)

And a second surprise text this week with this picture from Tracy Moak, another member....those are her two sons in the background

Letter to mom:

It is honestly so crazy to see that this is already the last week of April!! I mean where does the time go?!?! It is going way too fast!! If it goes any faster I will legit get run over!!! I am so excited for summer to come!! This will be my only summer away from home!! Next Summer I will be there for it!! What What!! Sending pictures to you is seriously the funnest thing ever!! What do you end up doing with those pictures anyways?? I know that it really makes you happy when we send you pics!! But yeah Elder Hair and I are having a ton of fun!! The ward that I am serving in though is struggling a lot though!! Like struggling enough that President has considered taking us out next transfer!! Its pretty crazy because the ward is just not doing anything! They are not accepting our investigators!! Like we have had 3 recent converts and 2 of them are Males and neither of them have gotten the Priesthood yet!! And that is usually something they do right after they get baptized! They got baptized about 2 months ago and they still haven't done anything with them!! Its real frustrating!!  2 of the 3 RC have already gone Less Active!! And they say its because they didn't feel welcome in the ward!! We have heard that from a lot of the people in the ward that are Less Active so it has been a problem for a while now!! But its ok the work is going good we still have people to teach which is really good!! We are just trying to stay positive and hoping and praying that something clicks in the Ward! Or else Pres is going to pull us out!! So I will keep you posted on what goes up! Thats whats new with me and the area!!

Enough of the heavy though! But looking at this week we are so excited that we have a baptism this week!! I am so pumped!! Liz is seriously golden!! She is amazing and so ready!! The work is just awesome!! Its hard but I would not want to be doing anything else right now than this!! But yeah we are wanting to go up to Canada for P-Day!! Did you send my Passport already?? If you can you can just send it to me then I will send it back down with everyone elses because the office will hold it until I get home!! So it will be safe don't you worry!! I guess there is a lot to do in Canada so that is why we are going!! ðŸ˜‚

There is a new Meet the Mormons movie?? What new people are on there!! Why doesn't anyone notify the Missionaries about it?!?! Meet the Mormons have been the best finding tool ever!! Elder Lundberg and I did it once and we got a good turnout from it!! So with a new and improved movie that will be awesome!! How was it though, better than the first?? That Cabin in Heber is always fun!! I remember going there like once or twice! It is really nice!! It looks like you all had a ton of fun!! Its crazy today Steve sent me an email saying "Letters for High Adventure" It is so weird to know that I will be the one behind the letters this time not the one hearing the letters!! So I wrote it up and I think that it will be good for those boys to hear!! I'm  excited to hear some feedback from it!!

Man those twins just crush it at Track!! I seriously wished I would have done track!! Those 2 are some smart doods they do it right!! I knew that they would be really good at it!!! Ayden just sounds like he is there to have fun!! Just like he always is!! I love hearing about it!!

Yep it is for sure getting warmer and warmer up here! I am loving it!! Its been a long winter!! I love you so much Mom!! Thanks for the Pictures!! Talk to you next week!! Love you!!!
Elder Logan Scott :)

Living the truck life now!! Nope, no more mini van!

Driving on country roads can be scary!! Until you randomly find a lake!! So pretty!

Elder Hair and I sitting in the car (more like our 2nd home because we are driving around all the time.

Found this sketchy tweaker hole...I do not want to go in there.

We proselyte in the middle of nowhere!!

We also found this cute little stream on the side of the road! The things we find in Colville!

I loved this little sign we found!

Colville, WA- Week #40

This is a picture hanging up in Logan's apartment

Colville is so freaking pretty!! This is the place I was picturing when I got my call to Washington!!! The weather says it too!! Its honestly crazy how out of wack this weather has been!! Like at one moment it will be sunny and looking so nice!! Then the next second it will be raining and pouring!! Like its crazy!! So it has been a pretty crazy few days though!! I am in a really boonie area!! We drive a truck now so thats cool!! They also made me designated driver which I do not want!! I do not like driving on my Mission its no fun and Tiwi yells at me all the time and never says anything nice to me!! That is always a fun adventure!!

The Area though is so much fun!! It is honestly booming!! Elder Hair and I are on the same page for sure!! We set a goal for ourselves this transfer that we are going to have 3 baptisms!! It is for sure doable!! We have 2 on dates right now this lady Liz and her daughter Merinia!! They are so cool honestly and they really want to get baptized!! Yesterday Liz was not feeling good at all and she was up all night dealing with her sick 6 year old!! But we have them on date for the 29th and she has to come to church these next 2 weeks or else we will have to push her date back!! She knows that and despite being dead tired and not getting any sleep and being sick herself she gets to church!! Not our ward but the Colville 1st ward!! That just shows that she isn't messing around this is really something that she wants to do!! That really built my testimony!! She really shows that this means a lot to her and it was just a cool experience that I could be apart of!!

Besides driving all the day long this area is super fun!! We live in a trailer so that is really good too!! My Mission has done 2 things that I said I would never do in my lifetime!!
1. Live in a trailer park!
2. Drive a Mini Van!!
The Mission really gets me out of my comfort zone and it really shows me that it really isn't that bad and it is also pretty fun!! Man the Mission is really fun but it can be hard at times... ok a lot of the time but when I look back on it I wouldn't trade it for the world!! I love you all so much and thanks for the support and the Prayers!! I Love you all!! Talk to you all next week!! DBD (Don't Be Dumb) this week!! PEACE OUT!!

Colville, WA- Week #39

Lewiston Zone Selfie

Hello everyone!! As you all know that transfers have come and gone already!! How crazy is that!!! 6 weeks just went by!! Just like that!! I didn't even blink and its already done!! Holy Cow!! The news is though is that I am indeed being transferred!! I KNOW!! I just got here but I am leaving!! I am being transferred up to the promised land they call it!! Colville!!! I will be serving in the Colville 2nd ward with my good ole MTC District friend Elder Hair as my new companion!! I am so pumped!! I am also so sad to leave Lewiston!! Even though it is RANK!! And it just constantly smells it has grown on me...Literally things have grown on me....Anyways the ward was amazing and the people here were even better!! Even though I have been here for so little I really do love it down here!! The Lord needs me elsewhere though!! So I will accept his call!!!

Going on with my week though!! Our baptism on the 8th did not go through... Luke he works late night at the mill and he had to go to the hospital a few days ago!! Because they thought that he had a stroke too!! And he also didnt watch conference so we would have had to push it back another week too so yeah sad day but it didnt happen!! In other good news Brad one of our investigators an "Eternigator" they call them! He has been getting the Missionaries for 7 or 8 years now and we finally got him on date!!!! It was so cool he always told us that he will tell us when he is ready!! But he has been saying that since I got here!! So I said "Brad we are going to set a date and that date will be May 13th" and I kind of just went on and explained some stuff and he accepted the date!! He said he is going to work toward it and be ready to be baptized that day!!! WOOHOO!!! Im so excited!! Even though I wont be there for it I will still hear about it!! When I got to this area it wasnt doing to well! But as Im leaving we have a nice pool of investigators and we have 4 people on date!!!! I am so glad to see the work in this area progress in the short time that I have been here!! Its so freaking cool!! The Gospel is awesome!!!

Nothing else really happened!! I get to leave a booming area right now that has 4 on dates all scheduled for one after the other!! Corbin and Kaeden get baptized on the 6th and Brad will get baptized the week after on the 13th, and depending on when we get Luke back on date but he will for sure be baptized this next transfer though!! A lot of good work I'm leaving!! I am not too sad about it! Its all the same work and all the same Gospel!! Just as long as they all get baptized right?!?! Well I love you all so much!! Man my emails are just getting longer and longer!! Improvement is being made!!! WooHoo!!!! Well thats all I got!! I'll talk to you all next week!! Love you all!!!

Lewiston, ID- Week #38

HEY EVERYONE!!!! I hoped you all loved conference as much as I did!!! This conference was AMAZING!!!! 5 new Temples?!?!? Utah is getting another Temple too!! Now I have 2 Temples I have to hit when I get home just so I can still say that I have hit all the Temples in Utah!! Cedar City will just be finishing up when I get home, so I can probably go to that! Saratoga Springs might not even be started!! Who knows!! Temples are just amazing!! Brazila, Brazil (dont know where that is but I do know its in Brazil) the Manilia, Philippines Area (Dont know what that is supposed to mean) and Pocatello, Idaho (Isnt that where Napoleon is from?? No thats Preston! So now I have no clue what ties I know that town from) But they are all getting Temples and that is so awesome!! I just wished that Lewiston would be getting a Temple and that would be just great!! ðŸ˜‚ Besides conference taking over my whole weekend!! (in a good way) My week was nothing short of amazing!! I went on exchanges with one of the missionaries in my District, Elder Frehner, and we worked in his area and boy oh boy is there area busy!! They just got lessons upon lessons every single day!! That is ideal honestly!! But the story that I wanted to get out of this exchange is we were walking home and it was pretty late I think. As we were walking we saw some guy walking on the road as well! I just had the feeling and I heard a voice say to me talk to this guy!! We were getting to the darkest part of the road!! I couldn't see this guy and I didnt know if he was going to beat us up or whatever!! We got closer and we both just started talking to him!! His name is Tony and he is a major Alcoholic!! He is really addicted!! We had a lesson with him the next day and he couldnt even sit through the whole lesson without getting a drink!! It was pretty bad! It has been a part of his life the entire time!! He started when he was 12 I think! We talked to him and asked if we could come back the next day (this was back to the night before BTW) and he told us when we came the next day that he could feel the love from God and that he couldnt stop thinking about us all night and he was really looking forward to our lesson!! This was an exchange so I dont know what ever happened with Tony yet so I just know that God he prepares people!! Tony just needed to talk to Elder Frehner and I that night and he needed us to talk to him!! The Lord loves all his children and he will put people in our path!! I love to know that and for the knowledge that I have about this Gospel and the opportunity that I have to share it!! I love all of you so much!! You all are the freaking best!! Thanks for reading my whole email if you made it to this point!! I love you and miss you all talk to you all next week!! Dont be dumb or do anything stupid!! PEACE OUT!!

Hi Mom!

CONFERENCE WAS SO SO GOOD!!! Yeah thats what Kennah told me last conference while we were both gone!! She said I love conference because I know that this is the one thing I know that we are all doing together!! So that really changed my outlook on conference it was so good this conference was awesome!!! Yeah we had an Investigator at a members house watching it and he has basically been an "eternigator" for about 7 years now or so! His name is Brad and we are like homies right now! We get along really good I love Brad!! But he heard Elder Costas talk!! I felt like that is exactly what he needed to hear!! Im so glad he heard that though!! He is just so super close to baptism!! He is already living the lifestyle and everything!! He just needs to get in the water now!! He has made a whole lot of progress since Ive been here though!! I feel like that is my whole purpose here in Lewiston is to get Brad baptized!! he is so awesome!! We have talked a lot about baptism for the last 6 weeks and we have gotten closer and closer every meeting!! He doesnt want to set a date but he told me once he decides I am the first person he is telling!! Whether Im here or not he said that Im the first to know!! So hopefully its while im still here!! ðŸ˜‚ But yes the greatest Mission of all time got the first Mission Shout out over the pulpit in general conference!! President Palmer was 2 Presidents before President Dymock!! So it went President Palmer then President Mullin then President Dymock!! So a little before my time!! ðŸ˜‚ Thats so cool Kennah got to go down to conference!! I bet she loved that!!

I loved Thomas S. Monson's talk in the afternoon session about the Book of Mormon! How he said that a Testimony of the Book of Mormon is not overstated and it is essential!! Thats so good to hear that you are reading the Book of Mormon and you are loving it and understanding it!! Is it that big red one that was there before I left?? The Book of Mormon does that to you it brings you in and makes you want to read more!! I havent felt that before until I left on my Mission and its seriously the best thing ever!!! For real it really does make life and everything easier!! Its so simple and crazy to think but its true!!

Thank you so much for everything Mom!! I love and Miss you guys so much I pray for each and every one of you every single night!! keep up bringing me good news I love to hear the Scotts at home doing good things as usual!! I love you so much!! Ill talk to you next week!!!
Love your son
