Spokane, WA- Shiloh Hills Ward- Week #29

Hello Syracuse!!!! (And other neighboring cities and or states...if that applies to you cool beans!!!!) So everyone this week has been nothing but amazing!!! This was a really good week for ALL the Missionaries in the Shiloh Hills ward!! We saw a lot of miracles!! And i really think it was amazing!! In total all of us we found 4 new investigators!! I dont know if thats a lot or not but it is to me!! We are officially killing it now!! Anyways Saturday was not my day at all!! Im pretty sure taht i got destroyed by everything around me that day!! So we were helping the Beacon Hill Elders help someone move in and this lady locked her keys into her U-Haul so Elder Markov (one of the beacon hill Elders) said "Elder Scott lets try and find a way from the back" Mind you that she lives on the 3rd floor...So trying to find a way from the back would require some climbing... And im so down to climb!!! So I climbed to the second floor onto this deck porch thing and i was about to start climbing to the next deck porch thing and the owner saw me there and he was not impressed or excited to see me on his property especially when he does not live on the first floor!!! I explained myself and he surprisingly was not too mad about it!!! YAY!!! His name was Stanley and he kind of looked scary like he was wearing a woman sweater and eye shadow and had some very cute looking nails... but he was really nice though!! Buuuuttt it continues Elder Markov said that i was climbing to the right apartment so i made him confirm and make sure like 4 times and he kept saying "Yes Elder Scott i know for sure that is the one!!" So the window was partly open so he hands me up a stick to try and open the window and climb into that house and Successfully complete my mission!! So as im trying to pry this window open with this stick i come to find this very angry man looking down right at me!! Once again not impressed or excited to see me especially cause i was opening his window from the outside on the 3rd floor...I quickly explain myself and once again God was looking out for me and this guy did not want to kill me!!! So back to the moving this woman into this house!! It took a lot but we got it done!! Then we all (us and the sisters) found a new investigator named Todd!!! Probably the one bright part of my day!!! THEN! We went to this investigators house with the sisters and i had to use the restroom... And little did i know that the toilet didnt want to tell me that it was clogged....you know where this story is going.... The last thing i remember seeing is the water quickly rising and it was running out of bowl real fast!! I remember myself saying "Dont you dare do this to me toilet!!" And what does it do to me!!?! Exactly what i didnt want it to do!!! Water went everywhere!!! Like all over the whole bathroom and everywhere it was really really bad!!! And to clarify i went Number 1 not Number 2 so it wasnt my fault!!!! It was the toilets fault just to clarify!! So yes this week was all so much fun but Saturday kicked my can!!! Other than that day this week was amazing!!! We put Zena and Tayler on date for baptism on February 18th WOOHOO!!!!! I honestly think that i was kept in this area just for them because if they lost Elder Lundberg and I both in the same week that would have been really hard for them and they were completely honest that they would not talk to missionaries for a while... SOOOO the lord kept me here and they are now getting baptized!!! WOOHOOO!! soooo that was basically my week!!! I hope you all enjoy the many stories that i get to tell you!!! I love you all so much!! Remember Jesus is our friend!!! (Watch that video on YouTube it is called Jesus is my friend!! It will change your life!! I would like feedback from all of you telling me how much it has changed your lives!! 😂) Well i love you all and i cant wait to talk to you all again when it is February!!! PEACE SEE YA IN 2 ✌

AHHHHHH My mission life is already combining with my home life!!! AND IM NOT EVEN HOME!!!! This is crazy and it is really weird to see Elder Lundberg and Elder Wilson there in my home without me there!!! But im glad that they come and visit you guys and tell you all what a dummy i am up here!! 😂 No different from home right?? 😂 Man you're back to the Young Womens?!?!? That seriously sounds like the life that you belong in!! I talked to Zaugg again, well he came and visited me again, and almost (ok i wont say almost) but he did see me get beat up by Mama Sosa while he was there!! 😂 If you dont know who Mama Sosa is next time Elder Wilson and Lundberg are over they could go into great detail on who Mama is! So dont you even worry i am still getting my beatings out here but hers are more painful and violent!😂 But he told me as soon as they heard your name was in consideration for Young Women's they basically said that it was a no brainer and you belong in there!! That is a very true statement too!!! I thought you guys went to get out games when i first saw the picture but its a new place up in Ogden?? Thats way cool!! Thats something that i really need to try out when i get home!!! Was Ryans homecoming good?? Yeah they all emailed me about how cool they both were and all the dumb stories about me being a dummy up here!! 😂 I seriously love those 2 so much and im so glad that you got to meet Elder Wilson finally!! They seriously became the Trents and Joshs, Ryans and Jaces out here for me!!! It was amazing to have some really good friends and not companions!!! It will be weird to not call them Elder (insert last name) when i get home!! And by their first names thats gonna be weird!! 😂 But im glad that they keep you updated and that i am all good in the hood up here and i love it!!! Yeah kind of hard hearing all about this fun stuff that is happening back at home and im not there to enjoy it with all of you makes me sad sometimes!! But seeing that im about to hit 7 months I've done and dealt with this stuff for that long and you bet your bucket that i can continue until I'm fully done!! Thanks for all of that mom, this is really what i needed to hear today!! And I'm sorry i dont think i have any pictures to send!! I've basically taken all the pictures I can here!! Love you so much mom!! I'll talk to you in February!! Love you so much!!!! 😘😊

Spokane, WA- Shiloh Hills Ward- Week #28

Well everyone i do not know what President is thinking but he is in fact putting me in charge of an area! But I am getting/gotten a new companion and a new set of Sisters swept in! This happened in Pullman too where i lose my current companion due to transfers and a new set of sisters sweep in so you can probably say i am a pro now!!! 😂  We just barely got a new Senior couple too So the work here is great!! We have a lot to do though!! With all these missionaries we get a lot done!! Which is much needed because the ward list here alone has 55 PAGES!!! I mean what?!?!?! Why is the ward list so big you might ask?? But do not ask me because i have no clue!!! The Hummels (Senior Couple) Started going through the list and have already found a few deceased members that havent been taken off the list yet...So with that being said that is probably why its pretty big!! 😂 This week was pretty awesome though!! Its getting a lot warmer up here the snow is melting and things are really starting to look up!! I got a new companion his name is Elder Morse! We get along great and its just a little getting used to! thats all! But this week was all good except Wednesday and Thursday we were told to walk on wednesday because of freezing rain and we were walking on the busy road and just like in the movies we were getting sprayed by driving cars by water... WHAT A JOKE!!! it was really feeling good until we got sprayed by water!! Gosh dangit!! It was a goo experience that i would not want to have again... Thursday sucked because i got pretty sick and i woke up at 3 AM throwing up and living on the toilet!! It was Miserable!!! I hated every second of it!! But on the bright side we at least had a movie on the presidents of the church and i slept/learned all about them!!! More like slept to be honest!! 😂 But the Ward is on fire with Missionary work and they are continuing to be on fire its awesome!!! I love it!!! Well that was a pretty brief summary of my week and i want to leave you all with this. I really have a testimony on prayer and Christs atonement for us!! I have grown to know that for sure this week!! It was kind of a weirder week and i was kind of struggling! But i know that Prayer got me through that!! Heavenly Father does care and he does hear our prayers!! Its amazing to know that!! I Want you all to know that i have that testimony and that this work is amazing!! Keep Praying! Keep Reading! Keep doing what you know to be true!! I love you all so much!!! Talk to you all next week!!!

Elder Morse...companion #10, DL#2

I am so so so so so so so sorry that i didnt email any of you last week!! It was a really hectic week last week emailing!! So this is what happened Elder Lenning (One of my old Marshallese comps) we were emailing and the other missionaries came to see if we were done and if we could open the door so we left the clerks office to open the door but little did we know that we left my keys in there and those had the keys to open the office door again!! So we sat outside and waited for a few other missionaries to come open the door!! So with that happening i didnt get to finish the email i was writing to you and kennah at that point because we basically got kicked off and didnt get to use up the rest of our time! The reason is that we email here at the church with 8 other missionaries and they all need time too!! So i was writing both of you and i couldnt finish so i am so so so so so so so so so SORRY!! I felt so bad all week!!! So i hope you can forgive me though!! Yes though the work here is really good! Its really picking up!! 2 girls we are teaching right now (Zena and Tayler) we had a lesson with them last friday and we asked them to be baptized and they said YES! WOOHOO!! Its so cool!! yes Zena works at subway too and Tayler is just best friends with her! Thats the only reason why i stayed here in Shiloh Hills for another 6 weeks to be honest! Because they just would have lost their minds if they lost both Elder Lundberg and I in a matter of a week! And i really feel like they needed me here to finish up what we started here!! 😂 So we are meeting with them on Friday again to plan out their baptism!! Im so excited!!! Yeah Elder Morse and I get along he is the first companion that I have had that isn't Elder Lundberg in like 2 and a half transfers so its something that i really need to get used to!! But with the picture of the house you google mapped last week you were so close you were one house off! the address is 7005 not 7004 so you got our neighbors house so close enough!! 😂 But your last weeks email helped me a ton!! You know me so well you knew that since Ryan got home you knew that i would be feeling like im missing out and with your emails help i dont feel left out at all and i know that im out here doing the right work!!! I love that about you on how well you know me!! 😊 Thats a way cool goal!! I have that same goal!! Elder Lundberg and i finished "Our Heritage" together and we started "Our Search for Happiness" (Ive only gotten a few chapters into that one and i feel like everyone should be reading it!!!) And then all i will have to read is "Jesus the Christ" Ive kind of started that one but its hard for me to focus!! 😂 NO WAY!!!! Thats awesome who are you in charge of the Laurals? Or Mia Maids? Thats so cool!! You are back where you belong in the young Womens thats so cool Mom!!! Im so excited!!!! Dangit Jaret!!! Why couldnt he have gotten a better grade somewhere!! It would have been so fun for the both of them to have each other in Office!!! That would have been such a fun Senior Year!! What a punk!!! But Elder Lundberg was the last DL I was with! He was it both of the times i was with him or i should say all the times!! 😂 Yes get them both to our house and talk!! Elder Wilson is kind of getting sicker he might have to finish a service mission in Utah or something he has Lime or Limes Disease! i dont know what that is but i assume Dad does!!! 😂 So get them both over they are literally both my Best Friends ive made out here!! I love them both so much!! But i forgot the Videos at home last week so i didnt get to watch them i will watch them and i will send you another email if they worked!!! I Love you so much mom and i still feel really bad that i couldnt even email you last week!! I didnt feel ready to take on the week without emailing you or kennah or Dad it was really weird!! That made me learn that i will never want to do that again!!! Thank you so much for everything you have done for me out here all the letters, videos, pictures, packages EVERYTHING!! you dont have to do it but you do it cause you love me and it still makes me feel like im in the loop!! Haahaha Well expect another email from me saying if it worked!!! Love you so much mom!!!! Talk to you next week!!!! 😘😊

Well Hello my good friends, Family, Significant others.....😏 ok just kidding on that last one i dont have any of those!! 😂 Anyways transfers have just happened again and i am once again staying in good ole Shiloh Hills for one or maybe two can we go three more transfers?!!?! No im kidding i am indeed staying here for my 3rd transfer and i will be getting companion number 9 in 5 transfers!! (Not including my MTC companion!) So yes the first quarter of my Mission has been a pretty wild ride!! Im not gonna lie! It has been a whole lot of fun while ive been out too! I have learned a ton more about this gospel more than i ever thought was possible!!! I thought i knew a lot about the gospel oh boy was i wrong when i came out here!!! 😂 So my testimony has grown so much these last 6 months!! Its weird to say that i only have 18 months left because thats how long Kennah's Mission was and that flew by so fast!! Its crazy that i only have that much left!! So i better make my time count out here!!! So with transfers that means a new companion I will be getting a missionary by the name of Elder Morse i dont know who he is but he comes home in July! So a whole year ahead of me!! 😂 but he will be our District Leader in our own "Shiloh District" (which means its only going to be the Shiloh Hills Missionaries) so thats going to be good! Junior Companion to the district leader again!! WOOHOO!! But yes all this week though i have worked in the Marshallese branch and Shiloh Hills!!

Its been a really cool experience doing that!! I have learned a little Marshallese while ive been here too!! Ive learned how to have a very simple conversation and bear my testimony guys!! The gift of tongues is real!! President best be ready to call me Marshallese speaking cause im ready to speak and baptize all the marshallese people!! 😂 Its been so much fun though working with a lot of other Missionaries is good! Its weird for me to think that i have to get used to a new companion that isnt Elder Lundberg! Because we have basically been together since my 2nd transfer on the mission!! 😂

Well everyone it once again has been a really freaking hard week for your boy Elder Scott out here in the Washington Spokane Mission!! Holy Cow man im glad it is over though! Or maybe it isnt over who knows...These are the Questions that haunt me!! Anyways so the reason why this week has been so hard is that my good friend and probably my favorite companion EVER! Elder Lundberg went home early Saturday morning...That was really a tough pill for me to swallow!! I just feel like my Mission is just sending all of the good friends i make out here home!! (First Elder Wilson and now Elder Lundberg!!) Thats just what it seems!! But its really starting to look up!! I think before i left i prayed for a memorable mission and the Lord is for sure giving that to me right now!!! I did the math and in the first 6 Months of my Mission (4 Transfers) ive had 2 areas and 8 companions!! I have had 6 of those companions all up here in Shiloh Hills!! Its about to be 9 next week!! 😂 Man the Lord is testing me!! So with Elder Lundberg gone you might ask "Logan where are you serving or even living at right now??" Well sir or maam just let me tell you illl get there!! I am serving in the Marshallese Area right now!! "But Logan you dont speak Marshallese!" Maam calm down a little i know i know wait a second! 😂 But yep just for this week i am serving in the Marshallese Branch!! I think that it is pretty cool!! I have never known that trying to follow a language for  a 3 hour block of church would be so exhausting!! Take my word for it i didnt have to do any translating or anything like my Marshallese companions did and i was still exhausted after!!! 😂 So with Elder Lundberg leaving this week it was a lot of goodbyes to all of our investigators and member families that we taught!! I'll be honest that was pretty hard to be a part of all those conversations!! Like im not even the one going home but i feel like i wanted to!! (Just kidding that was a joke i do not want to come home!!) Yeah so all the Subway people had a meeting at 8 AM on Saturday and right after their meeting was over all of Subway came over to come say goodbye to Elder Lundberg!! I thought it was so cool!! But they all said its going to be much harder when i have to leave because i have been the only constant one that has been here for the last 3 or 4 months!! Im so not ready for that!! So yeah sorry about the whole not a lot of positivity today its really been freaking crazy!!! But Marshallese work is pretty cool they drive all around Spokane!! I think i know the city really freaking well now!! HAHA well this is the last week of the transfer!! Pray for all this craziness to end!!! 😂 Well I love you all and you bet your bucket that i am taking all this crap on like Kuzko!! (If you read my group email last week you will understand!) All i can say now is just Bring it on!!! 😂 I love you all so much!! Keep killing it out there my friends and Familia!!! Love you all talk to you all next week!!

Wow! That sounds like a week chuck full of stuff!! Thats awesome though!! I love what Dad is doing for Ayden and Jaret to pay off their tickets!! Thats hilarious!! i love that so much!!! YESSSSSS!!! I really really really want them both to run for office!!! That would make their Senior Year so awesome!!!! Im so excited for that!!!! I hope that they both make it for sure!!!! They would really kill it and that would be awesome!!! But yes Jaret does love to scrap by!!! And its hilarious!!! They both are going to be like me in Office i feel it!!! 😂  It sounds like Kennah is adjusting well i like the sound of that for sure!!! What are you planning on doing for your buisness?? Its about time you decide to do something like that!!! Youre gonna do so good Mom!!!! Man i miss snowboarding though!! There is a ton of snow up here and it is snowing right now as we speak!!! And i cant do anything with it and it sucks!! 😂  Dang!! Jared is really going to do good in the Deacons Quorum!! Thats like right before Pres gets in there right?? The Deacons need someone like Jared in there hes gonna do so good!! NO WAY....... That was like the worst news i could have heard right now.... Man that makes me so sad!! No way..... I dont even know what to say! Really?? Ryan comes home today?!? Dangit he was doing so good and he was just crushing the game!! He only had like 6 months left! Dangit he was so close!!!!! Man my heart hurts for him too so i guess hes staying home for good huh? I thought that i would have 6 months to prepare for Ryan to come home but i guess it has to be right now to prepare for that!! But yeah i think Jace really needs someone there for him right now too! Hes going to be so happy and sad to hear this news! Man im so happy that he is home though!! Its a lot better for him to be home than out there struggling and crawling to finish!! He bets his bucket that he did his duty!! Im proud of him!! The reason why i say that it is the worst news i could have heard is because this week has been really crazy for me too! Elder Lundberg went home 2 days ago on saturday! That was really hard for me too because we were just so tight and really good friends and its really hard to see them go! The Mission is just sending everyone that im close to out here home now! (Elder Wilson first, Now Elder Lundberg) and now Ryan! So i have been moved to the Marshallese area for this week then i will be getting a new companion next week and moving back down to the Empire house (That is if i stay in Shiloh Hills for another transfer!) Which is most likely because i am the only one that is here right now but still you just never know! Ive done the math yesterday that in 6 months out on my mission in 2 areas and 4 transfers i have moved 7 or 8 times now and I have had 8 companions! and i have had 7 of them in the last 12 weeks! So it has been for sure hard for me! I have been kind of struggling with all of this lately but have no fear there is always something good to pull from it! I am kind of learning some Marshallese now! I was exhausted all yesterday! Who knew that trying to follow a language that you dont understand for 3 hours would make you so exhausted!! I didnt!! I got to watch quite a bit of football on saturday (just because members had it on in their house when we got there! We got to watch the Seahawks and the Lions play and the Texans and the Raiders play!! It was honestly a tender mercy from the Lord himself!! (The Raiders though?? They were a joke like 2 years ago!!!) Any ways thats my week yeah thats about it! Thanks for all your prayers and everything i really feel them while im out here! I honestly hope Ryan emails me today then so i can at least talk to him! Give him a hug for me and tell him im proud and i love him!! Youre the best mom!! Tell everyone i love them!!! 😘😊

Embracing the cold weather...

This is the New Year ladies and gentlemen!! Buckle up your seat belts because it is going to be a bumpy ride!!! I think of this New Year and all the trials and problems im about to face from a movie that my buddies and i used to watch all the time!! The Emperors New Groove! Ill explain after i quote it really quick!! So Kuzko and Pacha are on the river tied to that log floating toward the waterfall and they have this conversaition! "KUZKO: dont tell me we are about to go over a huge waterfall... PACHA: Yep  KUZKO: Sharp rocks at the bottom? PACHA: Most likely.. KUZKO: Bring it on..." Just quoting that movie that ive quoted with Trent or Josh over and over throughout my life still makes me laugh really hard!!! Anyways thats just how i love to think of everything that im going to face this year! Yes Kuzko knew that it was all coming but he still took it head on like a champ!! Did that make any sense or did it have to do with anything?? No or probably not but i wanted a reason to quote Emperors New Groove and i did it!! So no judgements there!! 😂 Well needless to say that holidays out on the mission is no different than any other day!! I just basically chill and still work and do everything normally! Its pretty boring to be honest! Back at home they make this big deal on all these holidays and everyone thinks its a big deal and when you get out on your mission its really no different! My New Years Eve was pretty awesome!! I was in bed and asleep by 10:45 i think!! WOOHOO living the party life for sure huh!! But its even better when people ask you what are your plans for New Years Eve and you answer them with "Probably Sleeping" thats my favorite answer!! But with all of that i think that it is amazing!! Because i only get 2 of each holiday to do what i do out here!!! Its a wonderful opportunity because i wont be on my mission forever and once i get home then it will be back to normal!! So I think that it is amazing to be a missionary and to do the things that we get to do everyday!! Somedays its hard and Satan is really good at his job at making you feel like you arent doing anything and youre doing a terrible job!! He is really good but you cant dwell on that or let him think that about yourself!! Our Father in Heaven really just wants us to try and we will make it!! That was one of my favorite talks from this last conference!! If you didnt hear or read it its called "Am i good enough and will i make it By: J. Devn Cornish" I really love that talk!! Am I a perfect Missionary probably not i dont think i ever will be!! But our father in heaven just knows im out here trying my best and he loves that!! But we have to actually try!! So thats my challenge to all of you coming this New Year!! Dont be so hard on yourselves and give him your best! You will see differences from it!! I love you all so much!! I hope you all made right choices on new years eve!! Just remember who you are and what you stand for!! (thanks Phyllis Moyes for drilling that into my head!! i should have listened to you more!! 😂) I love you all so much!! I cant wait to hear from all of you in this up coming year!! You all are the BEST your number one!! :)
