Davenport, WA- Week #46

I hope your Memorial day was great!! Mine was so great!! We went to a ton of BBQ's and we got to eat a ton of food!! It was seriously so awesome!! I would think that I would doing the same thing if I was home!! I am now in Davenport, ladies and gentlemen!! What I can tell you is that Davenport is probably the booniest area that I have ever served in my whole mission, my goodness!! Like when we transferred we were driving to Davenport, and we saw nothing but Fields for the whole hour drive that it was!! Then all of a sudden Davenport pops out of no where!! Its like a little oasis in the middle of the desert!! Pretty funny, but super boonie!!

(Google Maps view of Davenport)

We (We as in my new companion Elder Andrews and I) swept into this area Elder Andrews is really cool and chill! We get along pretty nicely. Elder Hair and I are still in the same zone we see each other every P-day still so that is pretty funny!! Things are changing around here and I think I am getting more used to change now!! It has been a major adventure for sure!! and no joke we live above a Napa Auto parts store!!

Logan's new home

Its really cool though there is absolutely nothing in this city or town I should say but a Post Office (Which is required I feel like) and a freaking Subway!!! Really? Out of anything we can have in this area they have the Gall... The Guff.. To put a Subway back in my area!!! Its a good thing though an investigator works in that Subway!! Hmmm, I feel like I have done that before...good thing I have practice at teaching people in Subways!! But nothing will ever compare to my Spokane Subway homies!! ðŸ˜‚ Anyways our Branch is so awesome! Our Branch President is so missionary minded!! He took Elder Andrews and I out to go see his home teaching families which is good for us because he home teaches a lot of Part Member and Non Member Families!! He really helped us get our foot in the door!! They all really loved us and our personalities!! So there is a ton of work to do here and I am so excited to do it!! And there is a ton of driving in this are,a too and we all know how I am with driving...I do not like it at all!! I don't know what it is, I do not like sitting in a car for long periods of time!! Its just not fun for me!! Its going to be a lot of work though but I can do it!! Well I have nothing else to report... We swept in and we are still trying to figure out the area so I will update you next week!! I love you all!!! Talk to you all next week!!!
Love,
ELDER LOGAN SCOTT :)

Saying goodbye to the Moak family...

This sweet family fed our missionaries about twice a month the entire time they have been there.  Grateful for them.

Davenport, WA- Week #45

Peace out, Colville!
He loved Colville, one of the prettiest areas he has served

The title says everything there is to know about transfers!! Oh and by the way we have transfers this week if I didn't clarify right there! Sorry I forgot!! ðŸ˜‚ Yeah so I am leaving the Colville 2nd Ward and Northport Branch! President decided to pull Elder Hair and I out! Something I was surprised about!! We talked about it but I didn't know it would actually happen!! ðŸ˜‚ My new area is the Davenport Branch!! I am sweeping in with my new Companion Elder Andrews!! I don't know who he is, I have never met him before, but people tell me all the time that he is really cool!! Its my 5th area and my 12th companion so this is going to be fun!! I am really excited!! Anyways this week was really awesome!! We got to go down to Spokane again for another meeting!! Elder Golden of the Seventy came down to talk to us!! It was so cool! Since we just had Elder Holland come talk to us 2 weeks ago, and now we got to hear from him!!

A quick story about the trip to Elder Golden, so from Colville, Spokane is 2 hours away. Deer Park is still an hour away from Spokane and Chewelah is right in the middle of both of Colville and Deer Park. So from Chewelah Spokane is about an hour and a half away. You still following me? This is all back story of course! ANYWAYS we stopped in Chewelah to get a drink, mind you we are driving on the Transfer Van with all the Missionaries in my Zone and being driven by a senior couple in the Mission, ANYWAYS enough with the back story! Again we stop in Chewelah to get a drink and lets just say I down the water I had by the time we got to Deer Park! So that means I had to pee, it wasn't that bad but it started at Deer Park and we still had an hour til Spokane...I was not about to be that guy that has to stop and go to the bathroom no way Jose!! We continue on the drive! We got to Spokane and I had to pee SO BAD!! I think that God has a sense of humor because we seemed to hit every Red light there is in the whole city of Spokane!! It was bad!! We got to the Stake Center and I had to pee so bad that my body was cramping up!! Probably the longest drive I have ever had in my life!!!! It was seriously so bad!! I was terrified that I was about to meet another General Authority with an accident in my pants!! I don't know what that had to do with anything or if I should have even told you all but I thought it was a funny story and I thought I would share!! ðŸ˜‚ Sorry if you all didn't like that!! ðŸ˜‚

One more story for the week!! We found 2 New investigators 2 weeks and they were both really promising! We went over and were expecting to have a really good lesson and to see them progress to baptism really fast! When we got there they both wanted to bash with us!! It was so frustrating!! One of them his name is Jim he claimed to have this 1830 Book of Mormon (In reality it was just a book of Mormon that said it was from 1830 when it wasn't and it had this guy that said he was the Author it was a joke) we gave him a Book of Mormon (The Real one) last time we saw him and had him read it and Pray about it! We came back the next time and he said he was comparing "Our" Book of Mormon with his, and he said that he went online to BYU and he said that "His" Book of Mormon and the one on BYU were the exact same! Also the one that he has, has a lot of changes compared to ours! He just couldn't get into his head that the one he had wasn't the real deal! So all I could do was testify of the Book of Mormon and challenge him again to forget BYU, the 1830 Book of Mormon, and read the dang Book and pray to see if its true! Because its either true or not and God will be the one to tell him! Then I went into the how he came to know the Bible to be true (he is very knowledgeable with the Bible BTW) he said he has read it and prayed about it. Comparing nothing to it because we don't have things to compare the Bible to be true! Then I asked him why was it different for the Book of Mormon then! He couldn't answer that and then tried to have me (not Elder Hair and I just me) read and pray about his 1830 Book of Mormon! Man did Elder Hair and I just lose it! Not in front of him of course! But we just told him that he isn't ready and that we wanted to end with a Prayer and leave! It was one of the dumbest lessons I have been in on my Mission! People suck my heavens!! So yeah that was my week!! It was a great one but now I am needed elsewhere in the Mission!! I am excited for these new challenges and experiences!! Lets go lets see what else he has in store for me!! Love you all so much!! Talk to you all later!!!! Love you all!!!

Colville, WA- Week #44

Logan says the kids on his mission love him...

Well everyone I have 2 weeks to make up for don't I?? So buckle up your seat belts its going to be a bumpy ride!!! So great things have happened to your boy Elder Scott in the last 2 weeks!! Our lovely Father in Heaven was looking out for Elder Hair and I so he blessed us with a new ride! Yep that is right we are blessed to be the proud owners (actually we don't own it so more like the proud borrowers) of a brand new Tacoma!! It is really so nice and right from the lot!! We had 76 Miles on it when we got it! Those 76 Miles were from the drive up to Colville from Spokane!! We are honestly blessed!! That new car smell will never get old!!

Then the blessings kept coming that Saturday (May 6th if you all forgot what week I was talking about) we got to see an Apostle talk to us!! Elder Holland came and spoke to us and it was seriously the best day of my life!! It was a Mission wide Meeting and we were taking our whole Mission picture (Because apparently this doesn't happen all the time so we just had to take a picture) So after the picture Elder Holland stands up and he tells us "Elders and Sisters the meeting starts now! I don't want to hear any talking, chatting, catching up with old companions, laughing or anything. Lets take this meeting seriously and learn what the spirit wants us to learn this day!" Holy cow that was a spiritual slap to the face my goodness was that amazing!! I felt like I got rebuked but I didn't do anything wrong!! 😂 Then President told us that Elder Holland wants to shake all of our hands and he says when you get there just tell him your name and where you are from then move on and sit down. We went right along and did that and when we were all done Holland gets up there and says "Elders and Sisters the reason why I wanted to shake all of your hands is so I could interview all of you individually and look into your eyes and see what kind of Missionary you are!" HOLY COW!! Once again another spiritual slap to the face!! I honestly felt like when I shook his hand I felt him looking into my soul!! He knew everything about me and saw my past and saw everything!!! It was AWESOME!!! That man for sure has the spirit with him! We all felt it once he walked in!! It was such a cool experience one day that I will never ever forget!! It made it better because I got to see all my old comps and friends I have made out on my Mission!! It probably was the greatest day ever!! (on my Mission of course!! 😂)  That was basically 2 weeks ago in a nutshell!!

This week not a ton happened!! We are in the finding process right now! Looking for people to teach so hope and pray we find more of our brothers and sisters to learn from your boy Elder Scott! 😂

Of course we did get to skype yesterday and it was great to see my amazing family and to spend such a special day with my favorite people of all time!! I want to thank my Mother for being the Best Mom a punk kid like me could ask for! Heavenly Father really does know us and what we need in our lives and my Mom is a true blessing from Heaven for me for sure!! I love you so much Mom!!! I miss you a ton too!! Thanks for always dealing with my crap and dumb things I have done throughout my life!! I love you and thank you for everything!! Also for letting me go on this Mission!! I love you so much!! I also want to thank my other Mothers you all know who you are (Phyllis Moyes, Kandice Haney, Jill Peterson, Maren Skidmore) You 4 are the closest people to know how my Mom truly feels and I also want to thank you for dealing with my loud voice and crap I have done to your houses!! You've all had 10 Months without it! But I know deep down you all miss it!! Am I wrong?? Of course not!! 😂 Well I love you so much too!! Thanks again!! And to all the other Mothers reading this email I want you to know that I appreciate all that you all do! Its a hard job for sure!! But you all are amazing!! Well I am sorry for the longer email than usual I had to make up for 2 weeks!!! Well be ready for all the Pictures coming up next!!! I love you all so much!! Talk to you all next week!!! Peace out!!!
Love

Colville, WA- Week #43

MAMMA!!!!!
Well this week I think has gotten a little better...It went great for Elder Hair and I but the ward wise I think it got a little worse...We had ward council on Thursday and it was probably the worst Ward Council I have ever been in!! Elder Hair and I just told President everything that has been going on so hopefully something will happen!! I will keep you posted!! But with skype on Sunday we decided that we wanted to do it to finish off our night! So I will be calling home at 6:30 or 7 PM on Sunday night!! So be ready!! It is going to be so awesome!!! I am so excited to see all of you on Sunday!! Skype call #2 Baby What what!!!! Oh and yes they were confirmed yesterday and it was just awesome!!!

Elder Holland was so freaking awesome!! The whole Mission was there so I got to see all of my old companions!! It was good to see all of them and to hear a Apostle speak to us!! The spirit really changed once he walked in!! It was so cool!! I loved listening to him talk and he is just so intense and loves his Mission like it changed him like no other!! I loved to hear him talk!!

The week did go by really fast didn't it?? I was really surprised by it!! Like probably one of the fastest weeks ever!!! It was a ton of fun too! We got a new Tacoma to drive now and I am so happy to drive it!! Well it sounds like that Jaret and Ayden did so good in track and I was so happy to send that shirt to him!! I am so glad that he loved it and I wanted to tell him that it would be better as a cut off!!

I have so much to tell you but so little time to write!! Good thing that we are skyping on Sunday!! PS I am not sending a group email so my pics will come next week!! I love you so much mom thank you OH can you send and Laminate my Line of authority (like you did for my Patriarchal blessing)  to me when you send my newsletter? I think that it would be so awesome to have!! Thank you so much mom sorry for the lack of emailing!! Talk to you all on sunday!! I am so excited!!!!! love you!!!

Colville, WA- Week #42

Well this week was CRAZY people!! When I say crazy I mean crazy!!! We had a ton of fun this week also! So don't worry I actually remember what we did this week (Kind of) so buckle up your seat belts! Its going to be a bumpy ride!! We have seen some miracles this week kind of! We had a baptism on Saturday which was AWESOME!! Their names were Liz and Merina Silva!! They are a Mother and a Daughter and they were nothing short of a Golden Investigator!!

We had a baptism service for them on Saturday and they were supposed to get confirmed on Sunday! I say supposed to be.. Because it didn't happen!! So to save a long story we will just say that they will do it next week!! So hopefully nothing really bad happens to them or anything to prevent them from receiving the Holy Ghost!! They will be good though who am I kidding!! Now that they are baptized hopefully the ward welcomes them in and love them as much as we loved them!! With Liz and Merina now getting baptized we are in the finding stages because we do not have a big teaching pool here! So pray for us to find people to teach!! What What!!

Well according to my title I said that I lived as a logger this week!! Well I did!! We did a ton of service this week!! We helped the Colville 1st Elders with some service, helping a returning Less Active cut down 3 trees and bring them back to his house!! It was freaking scary! Because those trees come down hard and they don't stop for anyone!! I can now see that the logging business is pretty intense!! I also see why people do it! Its because there is a lot of money that you get from it!! I guess you can get a good amount of money for cutting down some innocent trees!! Ryan (the guy who is the returning Less Active) He has paid off all of his equipment, his house, and the property that he lives on all from cutting down trees!! Thats really cool and probably a cool business to go into! Its really sketchy though!! I will think about that!! We continued to do more service this week! We went up to Ione (This small town in the middle of freaking no where) to help the other Elder's members with some more service!! We were digging a ditch and tearing down this deck!! It was a ton of fun!! They gave me a small sludge hammer and they told me do whatever it takes to get the deck out of there!! I WAS TOO DOWN!! I went like Thor with his hammer and wrecked this deck!! I thought it was so much fun to break that thing down to nothing!! Then we had to clean it up which sucks!! Breaking things is always the fun part but cleaning it up isn't too fun!! Luckily with all the leftover wood planks we made this huge fire!! It was huge!! And a really hot I should mention too!!

Then our last act of service we did for the week! With the other Elders we went to Ione to this theater! We got to wait tables and be waiters for people! (the lady in charge of the whole thing is one of the other Elders Investigators)

It was a ton of fun and to make it even better we got to watch this sick magician do some tricks for us!! Like it was a legit magic show!! It was awesome!!!

I love doing service!! The cool thing about it though is that we did all sorts of acts of service this week! Like they were all different but regardless of what we were doing we were representing our Savior!! We were putting a good look for him!! No matter what you make us do we will be happy to serve!! I have grown to love that on my Mission is doing acts of service for people! The feeling you get while doing it is amazing!! I love it so much!! Well that was our crazy week this week!! I hope you all didn't fall asleep during this email!! I love you all so much!! Talk to you all next week!!!
Love,
ELDER LOGAN SCOTT :)

Found this awesome waterfall as we were out finding

Elder Hair on the other side

HEY MAMA!!!
Mondays are just awesome huh?? I love them a ton too!! Yeah Elder Hair and I are having a ton of fun up here!! But the ward is still all out of wack!! They don't know what they are doing honestly... I think President is gonna pull us out this Transfer... I don't know its all in the Lords hands at this point!! We will see!! The baptism was awesome!! But they were supposed to be confirmed on Sunday but Liz showed up late to church... she showed up right after the sacrament was passed! Before the talks even! He gets up there and recognizes that they are there and they got baptized but he goes on to say that due to "lack of time" they will do the confirmation next week.He gets up there and recognizes that they are there and they got baptized but he goes on to say that due to "lack of time" they will do the confirmation next week.  But its going to happen next week though so hopefully it goes good!! The baptism was really good and awesome! I loved it!!  Elder Hair has been here for a while (this is his 3rd transfer here) But he thinks that if President doesn't pull us out he will stay and I will go! What What another one and done in an area! We will see what happens toward the end of the transfer!! Crazy though!!

YOU HAVE NO CLUE HOW PUMPED I AM THAT THE JAZZ ARE MOVING ON IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!! I am kind of mad that I am missing it because I have been waiting for this time for like EVER now!! But I know that the Lord is blessing me with their success right now!! As much as I would want to be there and see Utah go crazy about the Jazz!! I want updates like no other about them going far!! I have heard that they are giving Golden State a run for their money!! If they can get passed GSW they will I think be on their way to the Finals!! And Chad would have to give me $100 because we bet like 3 or 4 years ago that the Jazz would make the Western Conference Finals within the next 10 years!! They are doing so good right now I am so excited!! WOOHOO I am looking forward to my Hat, DVD, Towel and everything!! I am so happy!! How are they doing now??

Man its so crazy that we will be skyping like next week!! I will let you know the times next week deal?? This week is going to be so awesome Elder Holland is coming to the Mission!! And we all get to go down to Spokane and have a meeting with him!! I am so pumped to see an Apostle and have a meeting with him!! Its so exciting! I'll let you know how it went next week!! Woohoo!!

Love you so much mom!! Continue giving me updates about my Jazz!! Heck yeah!! Love you talk to you next week!!!
Love
ELDER LOGAN SCOTT :)
