Davenport/Ritzville, WA - Week #54

Alright to start off I want to clarify something!!! I got an email right before I got off last week from my Mom saying that I should clarify something in my group email! She said "Hey maybe you should mention you beat Vance at basketball. By the sound of it, it sounds like you beat him in COD."  -Kimberly Scott close quote! So I just want to clarify that I did not play Vance or even beat him in that matter in Call of Duty!! First off its because I suck at Call of Duty!! So I wouldn't even play because he would laugh and make fun of me during the whole game and second its because its against the rules!! 😂 Thats right I have turned over a new leaf and I am now an obedient Missionary!! 😂 Well thats not news to anyone else because you all already know I was an obedient Missionary before!! 😂 Anyways enough about the Call of Duty and the obedience!! HAPPY PIONEER DAY BOYS AND GIRLS!!! I didn't even know it was Pioneer Day until I emailed Jace and he says he has the day off because of it!! Happy day!! 😂 Anyways my week was soooooooo goood!!! Lets start off with the best parts!! I do not know if I have mentioned them in past emails, but we are having a baptism this Saturday!! WOOHOO!!! Actually we are having 3!!! Even better!! Heck yes!! Its actually a Family!! Thats the best part I think!!!! 😂 Yes it is the Fannin Family baptism happening Live in Ritzville, Washington at 3 PM!! I am seriously so pumped for it!! Its so exciting!! Tim and Brandi are the parents and Lilley their 9 year old daughter is getting baptized along with them!! Seriously its soooooo gooodd!! I have the great opportunity to confirm some of them in Sacrament meeting on Sunday!! What an honor it is and I am super excited for it!! Woohoo!! they have been investigating the church on and off for the last 7 years!! Crazy!!! Then we came in and they were ready!! Beyond ready actually!! We were just doing the teaching and they honestly taught themselves!! It was so good!! We had a lesson this week with them on Tithing and Fast Offerings, when we finished the lesson and asked if they had any questions about it they said "oh yeah we already knew this! We read it in the Gospel Principles manual! We have already budgeted our money so we can pay it!!" That is so awesome!! they aren't even baptized yet and they are already wanting to live the Law of Tithing!!! SO COOL!!! It has been great timing for us to come in and baptize them!! I think for me it has been my dream on my Mission to bring a whole family into the waters of baptism!! I get to fulfill that dream on Saturday!! I have been truly blessed for that opportunity!! I can't thank God enough for this happening!! I love the work so much!! Another family that we found are really doing awesome!! Their names are Brandi and Patrick (I can't remember their last name right now its leaving me!!  😂) Elder Beltran and I actually are the ones that found them! We were on exchanges working in Ritzville (Before the Davenport and Ritzville merge) were found ourselves talking to Brandi and come to find out that when she was little she her Mom met with Missionaries and she went to church and LOVED IT!! Then they moved away and lost all contact with the church!! We started talking to her and she wanted to start meeting again!! She wants this for her kids!! Her husband though wasn't too interested he smoked and drank not because he liked it (He actually hates doing that!! But why he keeps doing it I don't know!! 😂) He says he only smokes and drinks because that is what everyone else is doing!! Lame excuse I know!! Anyways fast forward to now! They are having some family issues and they are meeting with us! We had a lesson the week before about the Book of Mormon, What it is and all that jazz! We committed them to read and pray about it!! They said they would do it!! WOOHOO!! Anyways coming to this lesson Patrick and Brandi are reading the Book of Mormon and praying to Heavenly Father EVERY SINGLE DAY!! YESSSSSSS!!! That is so awesome!! They tell us that they are going through some family problems right now and are trying to find a solution!! Elder Yankey and I just testified to them that The Gospel of Jesus Christ is that solution and it truly does bless families!! We have both seen it in our lives and we know it will bless theirs too!! They are just AMAZING!! They have sincere questions and are honestly looking for the truth!! I am so excited to see where they go from here!! Its funny because Tim Fannin works at McDonald's and Brandi (As in Patrick and Brandi) works there too!! Another funny thing is that another one of our Investigators Mereya, she works there too!! 😂 Yep you know what that means I am baptizing another franchise!!! First Subway and now McDonald's!!! 😂 I have truly been blessed to be here!! The work is pumping and I am excited to see where and how everything goes!!! Miracles are happening in Ritzville and Davenport!! Thats all I got!! I love you all so much and I will talk to you all next week!!! Love you!!!!

Someone's excited to reach day #352!! Happy Hump Day, Wogie!

Hey Yo People of Earth and all who inhabit it!! 😂

This week was pretty awesome!! We are getting the work to pick up in Davenport before the Transfers end!! Which we still have some time!! We still got 3 weeks left so lets go!! Lets get it going!! Well its starting to go good!! We found some new investigators this week!! I should actually say they found us!! We got a pretty great text that was from a ward in the Spokane area telling us that 2 of their investigators moved into our branch area!! Why move to the middle of no where?? Don't ask me why they are doing that but honestly I think they are pretty NUTS!!! Cause there is nothing out here!! MY GOODNESS!!! 😂 Bam 2 new investigators right there!! Then we were going through our potentials and we found this guy named Vance!! He just so happens to be the only other Black guy in Davenport!! The funny thing is that he is really good friends with the only other black guy in Davenport also!! Jerry!! We are also teaching Jerry too so we are going to get some diversity into the Branch now too lets go!! 😂 Everytime we go over to his house he always has the controller in hand and his Turtle Beach Headphones on He is such a gamer and a baller its really funny!! We always come over when he is in the middle of a Match on Call of Duty!! Ayden if you are reading this find his Xbox Live account and show this guy how to play some COD!! 😂 He is really a cool guy and super funny!! He wasn't down to go to church! Lets make a long story short I played him in something it turned into 3 games!! I beat him 2 out of 3 games and we called it a tie!! Sadly he didn't come but he will come one day!! It just shows that he was open to coming one time!!😂 Then we were walking home from Vance's lesson and some guy that works at Safeway (Its kind of like Smith's) stops us in the parking lot and says that I gave him a Book of Mormon forever ago!! I didn't want to argue with him so I accepted it and he said that he is reading the Book of Mormon and that he is halfway done with it!! WOOHOO!!! He says once he is finished with it he would want to meet with us!! I am really so excited I can finally see the miracles coming!! Well not a whole lot happened this week that pretty much is it!! 😂 Davenport and Ritzville are just way to chill for me I need some sketchy areas some times!!  😂 Well that is all I got for you all I love you all talk to you all next week!! ✌😂

HOLY COW!!! I AM SO HAPPY TO FINALLY BE COUNTING DOWN NOW!! BEST DAY EVER!!!! 

I did get the package and I seriously love it!! The shirt is the best thing ever!! Its one of my new favorite shirts for sure!!! Thank you guys so much!! It was seriously a day that I thought would never come but it did come!! 😂 It was a pretty gosh dang fast week wasn't it?? Well my week was good we found some solid Investigators here in my area of Davenport!! Its really starting to go since like last transfer we didn't teach a lot of people cause we had no investigators... Its all good now I am finally seeing the miracles that are coming from working hard!! Knocking doors and what not its pretty great!! One of our new Investigators his name is Vance and he is a baller and a gamer!! Anytime we go over there he is the middle of a match in Call of Duty!! I think I have heard of some people that sounds like that!! 😂 He is way cool though I like him a lot!! We are actually going to go play some basketball with him today as part of our P-Day!! We are going to humble him so I am so pumped!! 😂 This other guy named Kevin he actually stopped us while we were walking home one day! He works at Safeway (Which is like Smith's I don't know if its just a Washington thing or not) Anyways he stopped and started talking to us and said "Hey I just want to let you know that I am halfway through the Book of Mormon right now!" I think that was pretty awesome!! He thought he should tell me because he thought I was the one that gave him the book!! That just so happens to be way before me even getting here!! I was in Shiloh when he got the book so it was not me for sure!! 😂 Anyways he says he is halfway through and when he is done he wants to meet with us and there are some things in the "Mormon Church" That he really likes!! I am pumped for this guy!! He seems pretty solid!! The work is picking up here I am so happy to see it!!

Davenport/Ritzville, WA - Week #52

What the joke is going on right now?!?!? Where is all the time going?? Time is seriously moving way too fast!! I am not saying I am mad about it! I am just saying that this whole year went by in a blur!! I have no clue why its going by so fast!! 😂 When people said Missions go by fast I didn't know that they meant this fast though!! 😂 I honestly thought that 2017 was going to be the longest year in my entire life!! It turns out that it has just so happened to be the fastest year in my entire life!! I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to serve this Mission and to have a whole year to do it all again!! LETS GO!! Buckle your seat belts its going to be a bumpy ride!! 😂 With everything that I just said about this whole year being so fast, this past week says the complete opposite though! This last week was probably the longest week known to man!!! 😂 I know I know what you are all thinking! "Logan you need to make up your mind has it all gone by fast or slow!?" I find myself pretty funny though!! 😂 Anyways this is pretty normal the first week of the new Transfer is always the slowest week ever! You are trying to get used to everything and know everyone and everything its pretty crazy stuff!! This week we had the 4th of July #MURICA!! I thought we had a pretty fun and chill Independence Day! It was just like any other day on the Mission though. I even forgot it was the 4th sometimes throughout the day! 😂 It was also our transfer day so that made everything 10 times longer!! After driving down to Spokane and back to Ritzville we walked around and saw some people! At the end of the day though we were walking back home and one of our Investigators were doing their home fireworks! He saw us walking by and he invited us to come over and do  some fireworks with him!! WOOHOO YES!! Now this is a 4th of July celebration now!! I was excited we went over and it was AWESOME!! It finally felt like the 4th!! I was pretty happy!! Except they were being kind of dumb lighting them off! A lady did one of those exploding flower ones (If you don't know what I am talking about its your loss because I don't know how to explain it! 😂) Anyways she put it down and lit it like 5 yards in front of where we were sitting!! Then at the end it exploded all over us ok by us I should say Elder Yankey! He took the hit for the team!! 😂 They had some really big fireworks and it all ended up being a great night!! Then on Sunday we went to Odessa (A really tiny small depressing town in our area!) we went to go see some investigators named Kevin and Celia! To be honest they are a little weird! To sum this guy up in a nutshell we walk up and he is wearing a young girls shirt with a Minion on it! He then proceeded to give us like 70 Otter Pops throughout the whole lesson!! I don't know he was a little weird! Anyways we went to go read the Book of Mormon with them and we wanted to read something simple and easy to find! We chose 1 Nephi 1. Easy to find right?? Well not for Kevin I guess! We start reading and it goes something like this I read verse 1 Elder Yankey reads verse 2 and so on and so forth until the end of the chapter! We are just reading along and after Elder Yankey reads his verse Kevin comes in and reads a random verse from the Book of Mormon like it just fits right in there! Then I go on to ready the next verse! So then I go on to ready verse 4 and Elder Yankey reads verse 5 and then Kevin reads like Ether 12 somehting I don't know! I was dying!! It was seriously so freaking funny!! After we finish the chapter Kevin is basically testifying of the Book of Mormon saying no matter where I look in this book I read truth and it makes me feel good!! We follow up with "well what does that tell you about the book?" He responds with "well what does that tell you about the guy holding the book?" That was honestly probably the most prideful answer I have ever heard!! 😂 After which he proceeded to hold my hand and ask me what I felt. I told him I could feel his hand and he said "that is correct you could feel my hand but you can't feel the words on this page! Because they are just words." I personally didn't think it made any sense or it even fit in the context of what we were talking about. Then he told me to go to church.. It was a weird but hilarious lesson!! Elder Yankey and I couldn't help but laugh and joke about it after!! It was really a good time!! Well welcome to Ritzville I guess!! 😂 Anyways I would like to thank you all for the support you have all given me for the past year!! Be ready for another fun filled year with your boy Elder Scott here in Spokane Washington!! I love you all talk to you all or just some of you next week!! PEACE SEE YA IN ONE!! 😂✌

Hey my parents,

Yep I am now in the Spanish work!! I ordered myself my Spanish name tag so hopefully it comes in pretty quick!! It will be a good addition to my collection of name tags along with my Marshallese and Chinese ones!! Needless to say I am pretty excited!! 😂 Crazy I know 4th Tripanionship!! Companions number 13 and 14! People honestly think that I am a troubled Missionary!! I think that is seriously so funny!! 😂 I love it though!! It is turning out to be a really memorable Mission!! That is what I wanted in my first year I have 14 companions?!? Usually people have 14 companions at the end of their Mission! I think its pretty awesome if I do say so myself!!

HEYYYYYYOOOO PEOPLE OF EARTH!!!

Well it is that time of year again!! No not the time of the year of the 4th of July! The time of the year of Transfers!!! I got my call and I was honestly terrified of what was going to happen!! They told me I was staying in Davenport!! Alright Alright I am chill with that!! With an added twist though... What?!?! Yes that is right they are combining my area with another area in my Zone!! The Ritzville Branch we are covering both and it is Massive!! I mean Massive!!! We cover 75% of the whole Spokane West Zone!! It is seriously huge!! There is nothing but wheat fields down here as well so a ton of driving as you know!! Its all good though its going to be a sick adventure and I am obviously needed here still in the Davenport Branch so we will see what this transfer has in store for me!! Oh also my new companion or companions I should say because we are going to be in a Tripanionship! What What another Tripanionship for your boy Elder Scott!! This makes companions 13 and 14 for me at the midway point of my Mission!! If I stay on the path I am with companions (a new one every transfer) I will have 22 by the end of my Mission! What What that sounds pretty great!! 😂 Anyways back to my companions they are both actually called Spanish Speaking!! #IamlearningspanishbecauseeveryonethinksIamMexican!! Its going to be a ton of fun!! I have already done the Chinese, and Marshallese Companions I got those tags now I get them Spanish Companions!! You bet I am ordering my Spanish name tag tomorrow!! Its going to be so awesome!! Their names though are Elders Beltran and Yankey (Elder Beltran goes home in a week and a half so that is why we are in a Tripanionship!) It won't last long anyways President says its only for this Transfer then they are splitting them up again!! Thats what he says but who knows if it really happens!! I am already saying to myself that I am staying for a 3rd Transfer so Yay sounds great!! One super funny thing that happened with me this week Elder Beltran and I were on exchanges and we were walking into McDonald's and as we were walking in some guy ran over to us and looked right at us and said "Woah Mexican Mormons?!?!?" I was super surprised one because this guy is assuming just because I am brown I am Mexican. Two I AM NOT EVEN MEXICAN!!!! Story of my Mission life since July 13, 2016!!! Its great though that is why I am learning Spanish so I can say I am Mexican and speak my spanish to show it!! 😂 Well that was my crazy week I hope you all had an amazing week!! I hope this week is awesome for you guys and you all have an AMAZING 4th of July!!! Love you all!! Talk to you all next week!!! 😊
