Copy of the letter Logan sent to the Priest Quorum with words of advice on missionary work...
Hey what's up Hello bretheren!!
It's been a quick minute there since I've seen a few of you! Some of you that were just little teachers when I was home are now Priests sitting here listening to my letter! Which is pretty weird for me to think about! I hope you are all nice and cozy by the fire cause this one is a good one! Well since my letter last year never made it to this campfire you all missed out on some great wisdom, hopefully I can pull some wisdom from the sky this year. It's also weird for me to think that a lot of you that I have always thought and saw as little kids (namely by brothers) are all going on missions!!That's insane for me to think about! You all can't be going on missions yet! Well I am coming home from mine in a few months so I guess that's believable! Haha, anyways I have a lot on my mind right now and it's going a million different ways so I will get started. What I wanted to start out with was that missions are AWESOME!! Plain and simple they are so good! You learn so much! I am convinced that you learn so much more on a mission than at college! That's just the gospel of Logan, it's not doctrine! hahaha Some of the big lessons I have learned is that pretty much my whole life I have taken the gospel for granted. For example the sacrament I remember last year we were teaching this guy his name Steve. Steve came to church one Sunday and as soon as he got the bread and the water he started bawling! You know I thought it was a little strange at first but I asked him if he was alright. He then responded "Being made clean every week is just the greatest blessing I can ever have, and most of the time I don't think I am worthy for it...but Christ did it for me anyways." That has stuck with me for the rest of my mission and hopefully my life! I know before that the sacrament was clockwork for me. I know I eat the bread and take the water and you have the occasional thought of Christ every once in a while, but having the thought that through the Savior it really does cleanse us! EVERY WEEK!! What a blessing, right?? I'm not saying that's what we all do you are all probably better than I am! I have a greater love for the sacrament now and I know the importance of it! It gives me something to look forward to every week! The next thing is missions really do change lives! I was talking to a recent convert in the ward I am serving in and we asked her in a lesson how the gospel has changed her life, she bore a very sincere testimony of the Gospel, then she talked about how our missions really changed her life, because without us she would not have gotten to this point! It was so nice to know that! To also see how much we meant to her in her life! I wanted to share this quote from a talk I was listening to recently. The talk is called Conversion of a Catholic. If you haven't listened to it I would recommend it! It's a good one! Anyways in this talk this missionary was teaching this really old woman, like late 90s or something and she recently got baptized and then got her patriarchal blessing. She couldn't see so she couldn't read it. So she had him read it to her, and as he was reading her blessing one part of the blessing says that this lady would have joined the church many years earlier if the missionary that was supposed to teach her actually came out on his mission. It was a pretty cool thing to read! There are people out her prepared for you to teach and to meet! I know I was called to the Washington Spokane Mission for a reason! There are some people out here that I have taught or talked to and I know I was called here for them! It's going to be the same for all of you! Missions really do change lives! It changes your won personal life, makes you a better man, it also changes the people you serve lives as well! These are lifelong friends you will have forever! Don't get me wrong my mission has bee the hardest thing I have ever done! This isn't some walk in the park! Just be ready to go through some hardships and trials! It will be a good thing for all of you! The good you feel will most definitely outweigh the bad! It's all worth it!! The last thing of advice that I have for all of you is to remember to have fun!! Life is still fun! Don't be so serious! Be yourself! Have fun! I can honestly say that my mission has been a whole lot of fun! I've made a lot of friends! It's been loads of fun! I promise! I'll leave you with this...don't worry so much! Elder Bednar told us this in the MTC, he said just try your best and the Lord will do the rest! That has been my motto! It'll all work out! Don't you worry you will all do great! For those of you prepaing to serve what I can tell you is keep doing the small and simple things! Do the "Primary Answers" go to church, read your scriptures, and say your prayers! Something Coach Dyson would always say "Do the little things!! If you can't do the little things right what makes you think you can do the big things right?" I think that applies to us all the time. Do the little things!!Well that's all I got this time around. I hope you weren't bored out of your minds! Ya'll best not be sleeping! haha well know I am proud of all of you and happy with the men you guys are becoming! Keep doing good things! I'll see you all real soon! I love this gospel so much, wouldn't nearly be the man I am today without it, and without my mission! Know I have a testimony that God knows all of us individually and he loves us oh so much! I know the Book of Mormon to be the Word of God and Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet! President Nelson is truly God's called prophet today!! I know it to be true with everything in me! I love it so much!! I love you boys so much too! I wish I was chillin' around the fire in the mountains with you guys! Maybe next time! Haha love you boys! Remember the Church is so true! The book is in fact blue! Jesus loves you! Don't be Dumb! Long live the brotherhood!
Love,
Elder Logan Scott

Spokane, WA -5-Mile Prarie Ward- Week #101
I'm all Hey whats up hello People!!!
Man what a week it has been for sure!! I'm not gonna lie it was a pretty hard week. We were for sure tried and tested this week and it was a toughy!! BUT! We survived!!! YESSSSSSSS!!!!! I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me!! Philippians 4:13 if anyone was wondering! 😂 Nah for real though it was a miracle that we lived! I am grateful! For these hard weeks it shows that you are still learning and growing and God is still stretching you to become better! For that I am thankful and I am looking forward to a much better week this week! 😊 Anyways I had some pretty cool stories from this week! We had our Zone Conference and boy was it good!! It was President and Sister Dymocks last one!! So crazy!! To add on it was also my last one as well!! What the joke?!!? Who knew this day would come!! "Not I" Said Elder Scott. It was pretty crazy though, at your last Zone Conference they have you go up and give your departing testimony. I remember my whole Mission people doing that, and I always thought that one day I will be up there! Then the thought comes into my head and its like "No you won't you are never going home!" 😂 I agreed with that one but I finally did it on Thursday and it was probably the most weird thing ever!! I never thought I would be up there giving it! I did though and it was awesome!! Such a cool experience to give the "Younger Generation" as ancient Missionaries like me would say,😂 some departing words! It was so awesome!! President and Sister Dymock did it as well and it has been such a blessing to serve around them for my whole Mission!! Even though I will get a new Mission President for 2 weeks it will be cool to see the beginning stages of the transition! The Dymocks are for sure what I needed in my life they have left a profound impact on it and I will have a special place in my heart for them! Its going to be sad to see them go, because they go home on Saturday, but at the same time I go home 2 weeks after them! We will be staying in touch! Anyways that was Zone Conference and it was awesome!! We had a funny or I think it was a pretty cool conversation with a member this week! This was with the Ryan family and something that a lot of people probably know around here, or maybe if you are really into Hockey, Brother Ryan is a Professional Hockey player! He plays in the NHL, which is so crazy! He plays for the Carolina Hurricanes! Which I guess is not that good from what he says! 😂 He is the first Professional Athlete that I have known personally!! Well besides Coach Dyson of course.. Anyways we were having dinner at the Ryan's and I asked him how the season went, because I was here last Summer before he left back East for the season! He gave us all a signed hat! SO COOL! Anyways he said the season was good for him personally and ok for the team. He mentioned that he was going to be a Free Agent this Summer! We were talking about where he wanted to sign and who was going to sign him and all that kind of talk! I thought it was the weirdest but coolest thing EVER!! First off I never thought in my life I would be talking Free Agency with anyone let alone the Athlete that is going to be deciding!! I thought it was the coolest thing ever!! I have gotten a signed hat and a signed puck since I have been here so the Memorabilia is being collected! If you want you can google Derek Ryan, and just know I know him personally!! Missions are soo cool cause you get to meet some pretty awesome people!! 😂 Anyways not a whole lot else happened this week! A lot of our lessons fell through and a lot of people flaked out. What else could you expect from a Mission right?? 😂 Man I'm excited to move on but I am also so sad to leave all of this behind... Its crazy that July starts this week... That freaks me out but I still got some time left and a lot left in the tank! Time to work til I drop! Miracles are coming this week I know it!! Well that is all I got for this week!! Know I am loving my Mission and still loving life!! Talk to you all next week!! Remember the book is true, and the Church could be blue I guess, its the signs of the times, always pet the dog, DBD, Love one another as Jesus Loves you, Wear sunscreen, stay in school, and eat your vegetables! LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!
Love,

Spokane, WA -5-Mile Prarie Ward- Week #100
Visits from Elders family members in the district
This is going to be a really short email! I am way short on time, and you would think that at this point in my Mission you would think I am better with my time emailing!! NOPE!!! Anyways it was an awesome week! We found 2 new investigators and they both said yes to baptism!! WOOHOO!!! Their names are Alex and Ethan!! The way that we found him was we have seen Alex around and what not! He talks big game in basketball! I tell him that we are going to ball up! He talks big game and we show up and we play ball! I tell him the deal was that if I won he would have to sit down and listen and also do what we say kind of deal! But if I lost I would have had to pay him $5! DEAL! I could spare 5 bucks!! Anyways we play ball and I totally destroy this kid!! We played to 21 and I beat him 21-1!! 1 new investigator there! Then his little brother said that he wanted to be in on this deal! We play to 11 and I beat him 11-0 ! There is our 2nd new investigator!! HECK YES!! We start teaching them about the Restoration and we blew their minds!! We talked to them about how we have a Prophet on the Earth today, The Book of Mormon is literally the writings that the Golden Plates had, and also we have the same exact Priesthood that Jesus Christ held!! They loved that!! They said that it made so much sense and they wanted to learn more!! We then invited them to be baptized and they said yes!! We decided that we are going to make it a thing that we will play ball and have a lesson on Saturdays!! Its going to be so awesome!! We are going to get the Priests all up in this and they are going to fellowship like no other!! They are going to get baptized!! Its going to happen I tell you! Loads of other miracles happened but I don't have time sufficient to tell the story!! Know I am alive and I am surviving this last few weeks of this Mission! I wanted to give a shout out to the best Dad in the world!! D Scott@Large!! Father's Day just passed yesterday and I think I really do have the best Dad on the Earth!! Thanks for being the greatest example to me on how to respect my Priesthood, Respect women, and to be the best example to those around me! To also make the best time and to have fun with any situation that you are placed in!! I love you so much and I hope you had the best Father's Day ever!! You deserve the best Guy!! Love you dood!! Well that is all I got for this week! I hope you know I love my Mission and this week was awesome!! Love you all talk to you all next week!! Remember the Church is true, the book is blue, I love you all so much!! LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!!

Spokane, WA -5-Mile Prarie Ward- Week #99
Weekly emailing with his new and old companions. Elder Heaton, Elder Bernecker, and Elder Holmgren whom you cannot see!
"However late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don't have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ's Atonement shines."
-Jeffrey R. Holland
I know this is so so true!! This is our job as Missionaries to let these people know that think they are way too far off to be saved this knowledge that we have! Christ's Atonement heals and cleanses us! I know it without a shadow of a doubt! I have seen it in my life and I know I wouldn't be out here if I didn't know it to be true myself!! He is there and he has already paid the debt for us! Its our choice to accept it and let it have an effect in our life! Its your choice! I wished all of this would have clicked a lot earlier in my Mission! I would have been more bold and promised a lot more blessings than I have before! I hope you all learn from what I didn't know! I know it will help you all in your Missions and your normal lives! Well I know it to be true I hope you all do as well! I love this gospel so so much! I love my Mission so so much! I am so grateful for the experiences I have had out here to make me a better man and to prepare me for my future opportunities I will have in my life!! This is primetime right now! Time to make it all count!! Well that is all I got I'm still doing good!! Remember the Church is SO TRUE, Whats Blue?? Oh yeah the book is freaking BLUE!! Jesus loves you so so much!! Pray for miracles!! Remember who you are and what you stand for! Always pet the dog!! DBD!! And Spokane doesn't suck!! I love you all so much!! Talk to you next week!! LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!!

Spokane, WA -5-Mile Prarie Ward- Week #98
Hey whats up hello everyone!!!
Well to start out we got our Transfer Calls today! Its official for my Last Transfer I will be staying in Five Mile Prairie for a 6th Transfer!! Ahhh That is a total of 9 Month people!! 😂 Let me tell you though its been too good of a time to be real! These people have become more my Family than people I am serving!! I have truly come to love this Ward so so much!! I am so excited to spend my last 6 weeks of this Mission with them!! What a blessing I tell you!! WooHoo!! 😂 My new and final companion will be Elder Heaton. I have served around him here and there but he is a pretty cool cat and he will be the one to send me home on this Mission! That brings my companion count up to 22 now if anyone was wondering! 😂 Its been a wild ride let me tell you! I am excited to see what these next and final 6 weeks hold! Gotta make it count! Stay tuned Miracles and more Miracles to come!! 😂 This week was so so awesome!! Memorial Day was awesome!! It was on P-Day which made it so much better!! On that day I learned that I am so out of shape!! LAME!! We played Ultimate Frisbee at this BBQ we went to, and oh boy I totally gassed out!! First signs of me wanting to get back in shape!! Then later that night for FHE for the YSA we went to another BBQ! It was like a pool party but they had other fun games to play! It was so much fun!! We were playing Lightning with a lot of members there! It was so much fun!! I made it to the Final 3 like everytime but that is where I would Gas out as well! I NEED more stamina but I didn't have it in me! I would push through it but man I need to get back into shape!! Starting now!! Running sucks people!! 😂 Needless to say Memorial Day was awesome!! I am so glad I will not be out here for another one! Thank the Heavens! 😂 Tuesday was AWESOME!! We did something really historic!! We drove up North.. Like way way north! We got to the Canada border!! WooHoo!! That has been the closest I have ever been to Canada!! Don't worry we didn't go up there just for kicks and giggles. We had a purpose of going up there we had a goal to get the Stake above us more involved in the YSA cause that age group has been a big concern in the Stake Presidency! We drove up there to see what ideas we could come up with!! As a bonus I got to see Brother Fitzsimmons my Old Ward Mission Leader in Colville! It was good to see him and talk with him again! Good thing that he is one of the YSA Reps up there! Things were so so good! We also wanted to go see a Less Active Melchezidek Priesthood holder that Bishop wanted us to go see! Come to find out when we drove ALL the way out there HE WASN'T LIVING THERE!!!! DARN YOU!!! Its all good though the trip did not go in vain! It was all worth it! 😂 Going to Canada was one of those things that we thought while we are up here we might as well go! So we did! It was all worth it!! 😂 I am so glad I am not serving up there.. Its way too boonie for me!! It was still super duper fun!! Would highly recommend it! We had another cool experience this week while we were walking home one day, we were walking past the bus stop and we saw this kid sitting there waiting for the bus, Duh what else do you do at the bus stop!!!! Anyways we start talking to this kid, his name is Bryce BTW, we teach him almost the whole Restoration and my goodness this man is made of PURE GOLD!! We set up a lesson for the next day downtown! Come to find out he doesn't live in our area!! DANGIT!! He lives in the neighboring YSA south of us! We go to this lesson and pass this guy off to them. Really solid lesson and we put him on date for July 28th!! Heck freaking yes!! I am ok to further the work of Salvation! If one Baptizes we all baptize!! What a time to be alive!! We did a lot of service for people which is always my favorite things to do!! One crazy dumb experience we had this week was we had a lesson with one of our investigators named Cliff. We start talking to Cliff and what not and then his neighbor comes on over. His neighbor wasn't very nice to us... It started out as a good conversation I guess, but then it turns into him personally attacking our beliefs!! Making us feel dumb and totally degrading us!! It was so messed up and the spirit totally left! It hasn't been the first time I have been personally attacked for my beliefs but it always sucks!! I never like it! It helped me realize that we are out here spreading whats good and what God wants us to tell the world working really hard to get it out there, but at the same time there is an opposing team. Satan is working just as hard to lead the people away and to drag him down to be just as miserable as he is! One of my favorite scriptures is Helaman 5:12 and it talks about this same kind of thing, it says that when the devil shall send for his mighty winds, when his hail and mighty storms shall beat upon you! It will have no power over us to drag us down to the gulf misery and endless woe, which is exactly where Satan is and he wants us there with him! Then it finishes with but it is upon the rock (Which meaning Jesus Christ) which we are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they CANNOT FALL!! I love that scripture and that promise! It has always helped me when things like that happen!! Just know Satan works just as hard as we do!! Don't get discouraged when things don't happen right away! Well that is the quick wisdom of Elder Scott!! Things are happening I am loving life and loving my Mission!! #6weeksleftthough I love you all so so much thanks for the constant support and for the further support you all will give me for the next 6ish weeks!! I love you all talk to you next week!! Remember the Church is true, the book is freaking blue gosh dangit!! DBD, Remember who you are and what you stand for, Make right choices, Don't talk to strangers, but make new friends!! Peace see you in 2!!

Spokane, WA -5-Mile Prarie Ward- Week #97
What a blessing it is to email you all today!! Woot Woot!! I love the fact that I get to email and its going to be a good one!! 😂 First off Happy Memorial Day!! For all of you that are still in school enjoy your day off! Unless you are like my brothers and you get Monday off and go to Graduation on Friday... This week of school will be a complete and utter JOKE!! 😂 Lucky dogs! I can't believe you guys are graduating this week!! You 2 shouldn't be that old!!! Ahhh whatever!! At least I was invited to the Graduation!! What a blessing indeed!! 😂 Anyways this week was pretty much a blur... I don't even remember what I did this week.. All I know is that P-Day was rough! We show up to email at the Family History Center and they are inside shampooing the carpets!! That meant we couldn't go in and use the computers.... We had to email on our phones which SUCKS!! 😂 I love that was an actual problem that we had to deal with here.. Wow 1st world Mission problems!! 😂 Oh I make myself laugh! Anyways then we got to go Mountain Biking somewhere in the woods! I took a lot of "Logan's Logs" but they take too long to upload so I apologize in advanced for those who are fans of my logs! 😂 That was actually really fun!! I'm no mountain biker so I scare myself a lot! Pinecones are dangerous things I tell you!! 😂 Moving along we taught a couple of really good lessons this week we brought some people to the knowledge of their iniquities and they have proceeded to repent!! Woohoo!! 😂 People are still being awesome.. a little flake here and there but that is to be expected with people these days! I still love the people of Spokane anyways!! Something that dawned on me during my studies this week that really got me thinking was the concept of Fear. I was studying in the Book of Mormon in the book of Helaman 7 to be exact! A little backstory first! I wanted to read the Book of Mormon one last time before I go home. I set a challenge for myself starting in January, I wanted to look for something in specific kind of what Elder Bednar has said in the past is to go through with a question or something specific to look for and you will find your answer. I took that challenge and the specific thing I wanted to look for was Attitudes. Becasue attitude is everything!! I am looking for the good attitudes people have and the blessings they receive for having a good attitude, and on the other hand looking for the bad attittudes and the punishments that come from those. Make sense? Get it? Got it? Awesome now you are all caught up! 😂 Studying in Helaman 7 this is where Nephi the Prophet was praying to God for strength and help with his people at this time cause they were being bad, and doing bad things left and right so he was super frustrated with them. Then all of a sudden all of these people come and see him and he basically starts rebuking them I guess cause they are just being a bunch of Punks!!! Anyways the guilty take the truth to be hard and they all get mad at Nephi and want to kill him and run him out of town basically! Then while the bad people want to throw him out little do they know that Nephi has some lowkey followers! They tell the bad people to leave him alone and that he is right and that they need to repent. Then these bad people see that Nephi has some lowkey followers that support what he says it says in verse 10 of chapter 8 to be exact that they did fear. I thought a lot about that. Because fear is always present when you are doing bad things or in bad situations!! I think of a couple more examples in the scriptures like when Alma the Younger and the Sons of Mosiah (It said that they were the vilest of sinners at that time seeking to destroy the church) then an angel came and appeared to them and basically told them whats up! It said they they were so astonished that they fell to the ground! I feel like a lot of that was fear! They weren't doing the best things and fear was in their hearts! I think of it now, My Mom before my Mission would audit my Phone, Which was awesome thank you so much for doing it Mom!! Love you!! 😂 I will be honest there were times that I was a little hesitant and scared to give my phone to her.. because it was a bad time and I wasn't doing the best things at that time... Compared to other times when I was doing good things and being good those times in my life I wasn't hesitant at all and not scared for my Mom to look through my phone! I would always say I got nothing to hide on there and I was perfectly ok for her to look through! 😂 Anyways I think about it and looking back in all of my markings for the good and bad attitudes in the Book of Mormon all the bad attitudes fear is usually connected with them. What I am trying to say is do good things! Don't be fearful! Don't give yourself a reason to fear what others will think of you, or more importantly what God thinks of you! If you are doing good things and being a good person you will have no reason to fear when someone asks you to give them your phone or when Jesus Christ our Savior comes again. Because we know he will come again! I know that to be true with everything in me. It was a pretty cool thing for me to learn! I am for sure going to live my life in a way that I am not going to do anything to have me fear what others might think or what God thinks of me! I think it would be a good way to live in my opinion! Do what you want though its your life! 😂 Well that is my little snippet of knowledge from yours truly! 😂 Well that was my week hopefully it was an entertaining one... It was a literal blur! I can already tell you be ready for next week cause man oh man is it gonna be good!! I love you all and Ayden and Jaret I will be at graduation in spirit! Love you doods!! I love all of you! Have a good Memorial day!! Remember our veterans!! DBD!!! Remember the Church is so freaking True!! The Book the last time I looked at it was blue!! Jesus honestly loves you all!! I love you all so so much!! Talk to you all next week!! LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!!
