Weekly emailing with his new and old companions. Elder Heaton, Elder Bernecker, and Elder Holmgren whom you cannot see!
What in the world happened to time people!?!?! I can't believe that its already June!! Man time is going by way way too fast its not even funny!! Well its actually June 11th today!! Its a pretty good day!! Lots happened on June 11th! First off its my Dad's Birthday so Happy Birthday to the best Dad EVER!! You old man!! Thanks for all you do and being the best Dad a punk guy like me could ask for!! You're the best!! 😂 The second thing is that 2 years ago today I went through the Temple for the first time!! What Whaaaaatttt!! Thats pretty cool I think!! I can't believe its already been 2 years!! Thats crazy its honestly only felt like a couple of months... But 2 years! Geez man thats a long long time!! So happy that I got to do that and to make further promises with my Heavenly Father!! The good thing about him is that he will ALWAYS keep his end of the promise! Sometimes we may slack off and mess up here and there but he will ALWAYS keep his end of the promise and I love that about him! Thats why I always feel good when I make promises with him! Its the best! Anyways onto this week!! This week was really awesome!! We had Transfers this week so that was something new and awesome!! My new Companion is named Elder Heaton and he is from Hurricane, Utah!! Way way down south! He is a pretty cool cat and we get along great! We have found a couple of new people to teach this week, so miracles never cease in the work of the Lord! 😂 A lot of the people we are teaching right now are more on the flakier end... Its kind of hard to teach them when they don't show up! They set up lessons and then no show, they say they are going to come to church then no show, they say they will do this by the next lesson but then they no show so we don't know it they really have done it! 😂 Daily life of a Missionary right now but its ok I still love them for who they are and God still loves them! I only have 6ish weeks left! I am finding the elect and looking for people that are worth my oh so precious time I have left out here! Stay tuned for more updates and hopefully less flakey people than before!! Things are going to happen!! I have faith sufficient!! 😂 The debate that has been going around is "What is the difference between a Taco and a Burrito?" Hmmm this girl in our ward brought this claim up to us at dinner one day and I put a lot of thought into it! Traditionally for me I have made a "Soft Taco" they call it, but doesn't that just make it a burrito at that point?? After many hours of pondering upon this question and asking around the ward we have come to the conclusion that a Burrito is just larger in size than a taco, a taco is simply smaller! Case closed!! Tune in next week for the next debate of the week question which is "Is water wet?? or is Dirt dirty??" 😂 Anyways moving along now! 😂 I don't know why this hasn't clicked earlier in my Mission... I wish it did, so future Missionaries out there that are reading this email right now, take note!!! Those that have made it this far here I applaud you for making it this far and for loving me enough to read it! 😂 Anyways the thing that dawned on me is that I need to be way more bold! I have really done that this week and its been working miracles!! We have this Alcoholic that we are teaching, and he is drunk EVERY SINGLE TIME we go over there! He says its because it takes his problems away... He is never sober and never in the right mindset when we come over! I was just done with it. He says that he wants to get his life in order and to stop drinking. I pretty much just called him out on it! I just told him how it was and didn't beat around the bush! He told us his plan that he had for himself, we told him we would give him a week, and if he hasn't started it in a week he is not worth our time! We got other things to do and other people that God is preparing us to teach, we can't be wasting this precious time that we have with a guy who is always drunk and says he wants to change his life but doesn't put in the effort! I don't know I love him enough to tell it how it is, but if he doesn't want to put in the effort he isn't worth our time! Talking to him helped me learn another lesson, that is that we as Missionaries are literal representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ! We are literally representing him in the flesh and doing and saying the things that he would do and say. He healed people, gave the blind their sight, and the deaf their heariing, raised people from the dead! Like that power is once again on the Earth today with the Priesthood!! I have learned that we as Missionaries have a lot of power! You future Missionaries take note of this! You will soon have a lot of power and a big mantle to fill! You can promise things to people that will truly help them! I told this guy, because he is honestly looking for direction and peace in his life, I told him that "I Promise you as a representative of our Lord Jesus Christ that if you stop drinking you will find that peace in this life that you are looking for, that you will be happier than you ever thought you could be!" Its a hefty claim to make these promises to people but we have the power to do it! We are literal representatives of him we worship! I wished this would have clicked about 2 years ago!! I have always made the promise of "Oh if you do this I know you will feel the spirit." or another half hearted Promise Blessing like that. We have a lot of power USE IT!! Be worthy of it!! Make sure your crap is cleaned up so you can use it effectively!! I know there is a lot of power in the Priesthood and Christ's atonement is Infinite!! This is something that I think we should all remember its one of my favorite quotes from Elder Holland.
"However late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don't have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ's Atonement shines."
-Jeffrey R. Holland
I know this is so so true!! This is our job as Missionaries to let these people know that think they are way too far off to be saved this knowledge that we have! Christ's Atonement heals and cleanses us! I know it without a shadow of a doubt! I have seen it in my life and I know I wouldn't be out here if I didn't know it to be true myself!! He is there and he has already paid the debt for us! Its our choice to accept it and let it have an effect in our life! Its your choice! I wished all of this would have clicked a lot earlier in my Mission! I would have been more bold and promised a lot more blessings than I have before! I hope you all learn from what I didn't know! I know it will help you all in your Missions and your normal lives! Well I know it to be true I hope you all do as well! I love this gospel so so much! I love my Mission so so much! I am so grateful for the experiences I have had out here to make me a better man and to prepare me for my future opportunities I will have in my life!! This is primetime right now! Time to make it all count!! Well that is all I got I'm still doing good!! Remember the Church is SO TRUE, Whats Blue?? Oh yeah the book is freaking BLUE!! Jesus loves you so so much!! Pray for miracles!! Remember who you are and what you stand for! Always pet the dog!! DBD!! And Spokane doesn't suck!! I love you all so much!! Talk to you next week!! LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!!
