Spokane Valley- 5-mile Prairie Ward-Week #68

Happy Halloween! Logan and his companion Elder Speckhard at the ward Halloween Party

What even happened this week?? TBH I don't even know! πŸ˜‚ Well some of my highlights this week were I got to go to Lunch with 2 of my Recent Converts from Ritzville! They come up to Spokane every Tuesday so we met up and went to Lunch! We went to Red Robin! (Probs my Mission Restaurant. Ok not probably it is!) It was just a good time to catch up! Love that family!! They are doing so so awesome!!

Tim and Brandi Fannin taking Logan out to lunch

We did our Horse Ranch Service again which kind of sucked this time. Instead of me helping put an Electric Fence up I got to go scoop up POOP!! πŸ˜‚ GROSS it wasn't too fun... Well it was fun if I am being real.. πŸ˜‚ It was different but way fun!! Then after we were all just chillin talking and whatever their is this fence and all the other Missionaries didn't think I could jump it! Me being me I wanted to prove them wrong.... So I did! πŸ˜‚ I jumped this fence easily in my Nikes!πŸ˜‚ Then another Missionary wanted to try it but he was wearing cowboy boots and he wanted to wear my Nikes! I switched shoes with him, and he barely makes it! Pretty funny! Then they thought I couldn't do it in the cowboy boots! I agreed with them I didn't think I could do it in Cowboy boots either! Then they started peer pressuring me into doing it! πŸ˜‚ We all know cowboy boots are hard to run in and Jump! I honestly didn't think I could do it! Then I thought I would at least try it! I try once and I get wrecked by this dang fence! πŸ˜‚ Its like a tire drawn fence! I got my foot stuck (Stupid Foot my left one if anyone was wondering! My family and maybe some of my friends know my Left foot gets wrecked and hammered all the time!πŸ˜‚) I landed on my shoulder and my leg! They were both a little sore the next day but nothing else happened! When I say DBD (Don't Be Dumb) I really mean it! I should probably find my own council! πŸ˜‚ It was a hit to my shoulder and leg and a hit to the ego as well...Really humbling let me tell you! πŸ˜‚ Well we found 2 new investigators this week!! They are super solid!! Never heard of Mormons before, Looking for a church to go to, and always down to hear the word of God!! We are so excited!! Their names are James and Amber and they are just Amazing!! Stay tuned with what updates of what happens next with them!! Woot Woot! Update on Joe and Katie! We have decided that they are so elect that Satan is doing all that he can to make it so they can't meet with us! Elder Jones.... Like Yesterday was pretty crazy! We stopped by and they were like sorry today isn't a good day our Basement just flooded... WHAT THE JOKE?!?!? This has been the story of this Transfer! Everytime we go by they have something going on!! Something big usually! I honestly have never seen so many unfortunate things happen to a family since accepting a Book of Mormon! SATAN STRIKES AGAINπŸ˜‚ I have high hopes for them and I know they are so elect!! The score right now is Satan 6, Missionaries 1... We only need one more lesson to see what they want to do!! Pray for them! We are so excited for them!! Well that has been my week! Halloween is tomorrow! Get spooky and Stay safe!! DBD Love Youuuuuuuuuuuuu all!
Love,
ELDER LOGAN SCOTT :)

Love receiving midweek texts from members so kindly taking care of our Logan!

Spokane Valley- 5-mile Prairie Ward-Week #67

Logan and Elder Speckhard in their Halloween costumes I had sent them

Well according to the email title, this was some groundbreaking news that Elder Speckhard and I have found! We were sitting there doing our Personal Study one day and we somehow got onto the topic of the Gadianton Robbers. Talking through all of this we learn that in the Book of Mormon they talk about how before Christ came to the Americas that all "Wickedness" died! Ok then Christ comes they learn from him blah blah blah we all know the story hopefully, If we don't Christ is in the Book of Mormon from (3 Nephi 11-28) Not important right now!! Going on with the story!! They were all righteous forever! Going on through time the Wicked People all started being all Gadianton Robbers again in the latter part of the Book of Mormon and the scriptures say they don't stop! You followin me camera guy?? How does this involve Jay-Z and Beyonce you might ask?? Well people say that they both are apart of the illuminati... We all know that the illuminati are the Gadianton Robbers... THEREFORE! They are Gadianton Robbers! ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED!!! πŸ˜‚

Sorry for that nonsense! πŸ˜‚ It all makes sense though! If that doesn't make your testimony grow and confirm to you that this is the true church I don't know what will!! πŸ˜‚ This week was so awesome as well! We had Zone Conference and interviews on top of that so that means that we are in for the longest day EVER!!!!!!
Zone Conference!!! Logan and Elder Speckhard

Don't know these two gentlemen, but I see Logan and Elder Speckhard in the background!

Elder Speckhard, Elder Jones, Logan, Pres. Dymock (in back) and Elder St John

It was pretty funny! I asked President Dymock if I could order a Spanish name tag! In response he pulls out his phone and calls Elder Banks (The tag dude I guess) and orders me a Spanish name tag right then and there! πŸ˜‚ It made my day and probably my Mission! The reason why this was so great is because we had some dumb missionaries in the past order different language tags. Dummy guys! πŸ™„ It was a great time! Love that man!

Well also we tamed a cat this week! His name was Abomination! That is because Elder Speckhard thinks that Cats are an Abomination! Therefore.. Elder Jones... came his name! Good times! Good times!

Logan and Elder Speckhard and "Abomination" the cat

😐 We did a ton of service!! We did our horse ranch service again! Only got shocked once this time! That is a pretty good improvement now! Then we did this other service at this Lutheran Church Garden I guess. I'm not quite sure where it was at but I was there! πŸ˜‚ We were dumping Wood Chips out all over the garden and what not. While we threw all in the bed of the truck we had to get it out, so while they told us to take it out with Pitch forks and shovels, Elder St.John and I had the bright idea to just use our bodies and some how just push it out of the bed ourselves... This was a very risky and scary move but we did it!! We got a lot of splinters and cuts paying for it though! It was all worth it!!

Elder St. John and Logan pushing wood chips for the Lutheran Church Garden

πŸ˜‚ Service is always my favorite thing to do as a missionary! Not only are you making peoples day better but you are literally doing as Christ would do! That is serving our fellow men! Its honestly my favorite thing to do!! So I talked about Zone Conference, The cat, all the service we have done this week, and how Jay Z and Beyonce are Gadianton Robbers, I think those are all the funny/Cool stories I have for this week!! I just love being a Missionary and doing this great work!! Its crazy to think I only have 9 Months left to do it... #SadDay gotta make it count though!! The work is really starting to pick up! I really think that the Lord is blessing us with a lot of Miracles, it may not be people to teach right now, but with service and what not! He won't forget about us and he hears our prayers!! Welp that is all I got for this week! Its been a crazy one for sure!! Way fun though! DBD! LOVE YOUUUUUUUU ALLLLLLLLL!!!! Talk to you all next week!! πŸ˜Š

Spokane Valley- 5-mile Prairie Ward-Week #66

Logan's District "First Presidency" pic

Hey Whats Up Hello People of Earth! Another great week has come to pass in the great town of Spokane, For yours truly Elder Scott! πŸ˜‚ Lets just right down to the nitty gritty of the highlights from this great week!! Well we are one week closer to Halloween and that means its one week closer to getting a little colder, and from it getting colder means that it is indeed Christmas time! Merry Christmas everyone!! I am so excited!! πŸ˜‚ Well thats pretty much my highlights for this week, not a whole lot has happened... πŸ˜‚ I did get this great opportunity to hear Tayler (Lil Tay Tay) give a talk  her first talk in Sacrament meeting!! Its been a really big blessing to see her continue progressing since I have been up here!! Elder Lundberg and I had the opportunity to do the normal Missionary stuff to find and teach and baptize her! Its been a blessing to see her continue to progress and keep going forward in the Gospel since I have been here! Like I have seen her get her Patriarchal Blessing, Go to the Temple, Start Personal Progress, Give a her first talk in Sacrament!! Holy cow what a blessing!!! I can't express how happy that makes me to see where she came from and to see how she is now! Its a complete 180! I'll be 100% honest sitting in the talk and hearing her testimony I literally almost started crying! Knowing her 10 Months ago this was never in the plans! She never saw herself doing this at all! Now look it at where we are at! Her testimony was powerful and I am so glad I have been apart of this whole process and to make it even better her talk was literally on Elder Costa's talk "To my friends the investigators of the church" Her whole talk was literally first meeting the missionaries, Taking the lessons, etc. That was literally all me!!!! (And Elder Lundberg I guess...) πŸ˜‚ Being honestly I almost cried... Its been such and awesome journey with a lot of ups and downs. It has all been worth it though! I have loved to be here for it every step of the way!! The Gospel journey isn't always an easy one, but in the end its always so so worth it!! I promise!! Well now thats over I can stop being a little cry baby!! πŸ˜‚ Some funny things that happened is that we had a Lunch thing with some members in our ward. Their Mom is 80 and she has Dementia. Just to sum up our conversation with her, She asked us where she was at like 30 times, asked me what nationality I was like 15 times, it was pretty funny! She kept complimenting me saying I was handsome and what not then Elder Speckhard would say something like I got hit with the Ugly stick and the Grandma would turn to me and ask "I thought he was talking about himself?" OHHHH get Wrecked!!! πŸ˜‚ He would be talking all the time and she would yell "Why aren't you speaking this language!?!?" It was seriously so freaking funny!!! πŸ˜‚ We also got invited to carve pumpkins with the Young Women in our ward!! We went and we had a ton of fun! These women have 0 chill! πŸ˜‚ We carve this pumpkin it takes forever for us to do it for some reason! Then we are trying to take the part that we just carved out and one girl says I will help you with that and she says "You have to do it like this" and does some violent movement!! In the end our pumpkin broke! Don't worry we did some pumpkin surgery and we fixed it! πŸ˜‚ It continues..... We finish our pumpkin... And we set it on the table and they decide to move the table... I bet you can guess what happened... Yes out of any pumpkin to fall off the table... It was ours and it broke in half.... No man made surgery could fix our Pumpkin at this point!! We were devastated! πŸ˜₯ and the Young Women just laughed at our misfortune!! #SadDay It ended up being way fun still and the Young Women had fun with us there! Lots and lots of fun!! Well that is all I have this week!! Its been real and its been fun.. But it hasn't been real fun... LIES! Its been way fun!! Welp thats all Folks!! LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUU ALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!
Love,
ELDER LOGAN SCOTT :)

Spokane Valley- 5-mile Prairie Ward-Week #65

Hello my friends and family and anyone else that is on here because if you are on here you obviously love me enough to get on here! πŸ˜‚ With that being said YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY for loving me!! πŸ˜‚ We are already off topic.... ANYWAYS!! This week has been so so much fun!! Well I guess you can say that! πŸ˜‚ We are trying to find some fun while doing the hardest part of Missionary work which is finding!! We are in the major finding stages of our work right now and we are trying our best to find people to teach Gosh Dangit!!! Sometimes it could be very frustrating but its so much fun when you make it fun! πŸ˜‚ Some funny stories that have happened from us tracting. Yes we have officially resulted to tracting as our finding source because to be straight honest I have tried everything else that I know to do!! πŸ˜‚ Awesome right?? Anyways! Elder Speckhard and I have decided since its Halloween and its time to get so spooky while we are aimlessly walking trying to find houses to tract, we call it our spooky detectors and we knock a house according to how "Spooky" it is! Like if they are decorated for Halloween we would go knock it! And if we felt like we needed to knock a certain house then we would make an exception I guess! πŸ˜‚ We haven't found too much success from tracting yet but stay tuned! We will find someone!! πŸ˜‚ Moving along now! This is a funny story while we were tracting we walked up to this house and we were going to knock on it! We do so and the guy from inside yells "Come in!" Being a little confused cause that is the first time anyone has ever said that to me on my Mission I poke my head to look through his window and we make eye contact. He sees me and he starts waving his hand (For those on this email that played under Coach Dyson at Clearfield High when he says "We don't need you" yeah that kind of hand wave) for those that didn't play under Coach Dyson he waves his hand like a get out kind of wave... If you don't know what I am talking about just imagine it! πŸ˜‚ While he is waving he yells "Not interested!" I honestly hate that response! I respond back with "Not interested in what?!" and he yells back "I am not interested in anything you are selling!" (Mind you this is all happening outside his door as we are looking at each other through the window! πŸ˜‚) I respond back with "I am not selling anything!!" He continues to say "I am not interested in anything you are doing!" I answer back with "I am looking for service!" He yells back with "Not Interested!" I asked if I could leave a card on his porch and he said no so we left... πŸ˜‚ It was for real like one of my favorite conversations I have ever had I was so done with people and taking their crap! That is why Elder Speckhard and I said that if anyone says they are not interested we will ask them Not Interested in what?? I didn't know I said something that sparked your interest yet! πŸ˜‚ Ok maybe not the second part but for sure the first!! Its been way too much fun!! Well the rest of the week was awesome! We did a lot of service one at a Horse ranch replacing an electric fence! Where we are also hanging out with a bunch of horses! SO COOL!!! The other service that we did was some yard clean up at the nearby Catholic church!! What a time to be a Missionary right?!?! πŸ˜‚ Well it is in fact getting colder and the fall has fallen upon us!! The work is starting to pick up and honestly I have nothing to complain about!! Life is so great right now!! I love my Mission so much!! I love all of you guys so much!! Thanks for sticking through this long long email!! Welp thats all I got for this week!! I love you all talk to you all next week!! πŸ˜Š DBD, Peace out see ya in not 2!
Love,

ELDER LOGAN SCOTT :)
